it shouldn't hurt every once in a while. I learned to drive stick in my civic and stalled numerous times daily. I even grinded the gears a couple of times. I have no problems with it at all, so don't worry.

I did it a few days ago... And you know who noticed me? My best friend's mom... A few minutes later I get a call from my friend at work. He already got the news... How embarrassing.

Just don't make a habit of it... My Civic is my first manual transmission and it took a little while to get used to. Before you know it, you'll be taking off without even giving it a thought!

I really don't think stalling the car is going to hurt anything. Grinding gears is what you should be concerned about. It's impossible to drive a manual for any length of time and not stall occasionaly. It happens to the best of us.
