I already check on DMV's website and I'm still lost.
What documents do I need to fill out?
What do I need to bring to DMV?
What fees will I be paying (I know there's a transfer fee, what about tax)?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about CA, but NY you pay tax, 8% of the amount on the bill of sale. And don't have them make the fill of sale for less than you paid, cause if there's something wrong with the car, all you're going to get back from the seller is what's on the bill of sale.

usually the guy at the counter is helpful because he wants you out of his face. he'll sigh and tell you you need for xx5550 and fill that out and there's a $342 fee and then fill out form f449 and then be sure to bring your certificate of smog crap and your bill of sale and so on.........
