Why so High?

Picked up my mom today, gets in my car and says hmmmm very nice...... I can see very clearly clean windows, clean car, and very comfortable its like riding an SUV
SAY WHAT??? thats not good, now why the ......... did honda make these civics so high off the ground are they also in the spring(s) business? My 2002 runs awsome compared to others in the same price range no complaints, the earlier civics looks and are much lower than these 01-02's I dont know if I'm the only one that see this. when I got this car I was going to leave it stock as I am getting a little older and dont really wanna spend that much for springs and rims but whenever I see mine and see one (stock) on the road I think the stock plan is out the window. just a thought

Maybe your mom's medication needs adjusting, just kidding Anyhow I don't think the new Civics are any higher than the old ones. In fact I've parked mine next to an older Civic and a Corrolla and the 7th Gens are lower. I think what your mom was commenting on is the high roof line while inside the car. My mother had a 99 Civic and she thought my car had much more head room, but the hood is shorter and slightly higher. With my car I've even noticed that I can't get to close to a parking block because my car will bottom out on them. Just my 2¢

I have to agree with ALC. I parked my brand new civic sedan in the church parking lot and got heckled by some teenagers because the partor's Buick was actually lower than my car. I dunno, everytime I compare the ride height of this vehicle to another, I feel like I purchased an Oddessy, not a civic. Shame on Honda for making these things so high. Now I have to save up for new springs, shocks and camber.

bad, bad honda for not making the cars slammed from the factory so the market share of buyers over 30 could scrape over every speedbump on their way to the old folks home
