Sub Box too Big????!!!!

Hey guys I cant figure out how to get my sub box to fit in my trunk. ive tried and tried. The specs of the box are 18.5 inches tall 31.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep. I cant figure out any possible way to get the box to fit in the trunk. So if any of you guys have any ideas or experience in getting big box's to fit into civic trunks then shoot away. I really need some help here.

I tried lots of things.Emptied out the whole trunk and i still couldnt figure out anyway of getting it to fit in their the right way. The way i had it the sub was firing up and I dont want it to do that anymore. I want the box to sit in their normally. What if i tried putting it in from the back seat area..... but then again thats another small opening too. I dont know if you could cut some metal off in certain areas to give you some more room...... like the little metal bump the runs left and right to the metal loop that your trunk latches too. I hope you guys know what im talking about. Im just looking for any/all ideas on what you guys think i could do to get this thing to fit right.

im thinking its the height cause 18 is pretty tall. the box i have in my coupe are: 15 H x 34 W x 16 TD x 21 BD and it fits snug and perfect.

try putting it in sideways since the depth is shorter (15") and see if that may work. my guess is that an 18" tall box will be touching the tension trunk bars that sits right below the rear speakers. do you have a coupe or sedan?

have you already removed the spare tire as well?

It may not be possible for you. If you have tried and tried, and still cannot get it to budge, unfortunatley you may need to just go out and buy a new box. You can get one on Ebay relatively cheap. I know it's not the desired answer but it may be the only answer.
