Re-sealed headlights..still fog up...
Man i re-sealed my headlights, what i thought was a good seal job, and they still fog up. actually even worse now. is there something i'm doing wrong? wrong silicone or what?
I dunno man, when i cleared my lights. i just cleaned the inside and glued it together with bathroom clear silicone. i didnt have any trouble. i put two layers in case of leakage. but i gotta take it apart again cuz i didnt clean it as good as i thought. but i would say take it apart again, and clean it up and make sure its FULLY dry. then re-glue it, and put like 2 layers of silicone on it. but make sure the first layer is dry so u dont accidently get some inside ur headlights like what i did. and take your time and dont rush or it'll look like crap. gl
Where did you apply the sealant??? It happened to me before; I thought I had it sealed right because I put LOTS of silicon and it ended up fogging after a car wash. I figured out what I did wrong - I just put the headlights together and applied sealant around the edges rather than the INSIDE GROOVES. After taking the headlights apart, I put a GENEROUS amount of silicon in those grooves, there has been no fogging whatsoever.

just make sure the sealant is waterproof silicone (clear). when i seal my halos once and for all, they're going in oven first to use the stock goo, which isnt much. then im going around all the edge with silicone letting dry 24hrs and then doing second layer around the first. be sure to let it cure full 24hrs. its very easy to miss a tiny hole and then all the vapor comes in. also make sure the bulb sockets are closed. i know some have vents, especially projectors, not necessary. seal up around the sockets too while you're at it. you can always break the seal when you change a bulb later.
