tweeter mounting and speaker size...

hey, i'm fairly new to this site and to civics in general. i got a 2001 civic lx sedan which is a major upgrade from my 94 cavalier (i am still a starving college student with bills). anyway i tried to swap the system i had in my cavalier to the civic, only to find that my alpine 6x9's wouldn't fit without some major cutting. so i didn't, and i put it all back together (Waste of TIME).

this brings me to my question... crutchfield doesn't have these----> crutchfield.com/S-0uVvpzMGpGz/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=400&I=107DB650 Polk 6.5's as fitting my civic, but it looks like the top mount depth is 2'. will it fit?

also, for the front i was looking at these----> crutchfield.com/S-0uVvpzMGpGz/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?wm=fp&I=107DB6500&g=400 Polk 6.5's w/ Tweeters, there's no mounting bracket in the picture, so do i have to assume that i'd have to custom fab something to get it to sit right?

any help is appreciated, thanks.

They will fit. I have the same ones in my 02 civic lx. They didn't say they would fit my car either. Get them from Crutchfield though cause they will give you everything you need. On the front doors though I had to cut the plastic down from inside the door panel. Just get a sharp knife and it cuts like butter. The lip on the inside door panel speaker grill is what you need to cut. It looks like a thin wall of plastic. It's easy. As for the tweets you can either custom mount them on the window mirror trim peice ( the black peice and the top of the door in the corner) or you can make a custom bracket and mount them above the speaker in the door. I'd go with the trim peice thought it would be easier.

Remember to get some sort of vibration dampening material. You will need it. It will vibrate really bad if you don't get it. I put some behind the speaker in the door and around it and in strategic places on the door and on the plastic panel ,that I thought would vibrate. It worked well for me , no vibrating. So it is worth it. just get a few sheets not a lot. Crutchfield sells it to. Get it when you order the speaker. I think I only paid an extra $20 for it, and it's worth it.
