Im backkkk, and have questions about nitrous 1/4 mile times.

Hey everyone, ive been hating my 7thgen for some time, left this sight for a few months, now ive come to terms with my 7thgen and i got some plans.

Im currently in school to be an engineer, and after school would like to K-swap, but for now im thinking... the cars only gunna need the stock engine for 1-2 years more TOPS so why not spray?

While im not TO familiar with nitrous, i do know the basics. I read the FAQ, and a bunch of other stuff.

Im looking for peoples current 1/4 mile times and modifications with nitrous.

Im looking to get a ZEX kit, and use the 65 jet, with my d17a1 maybe with I/h/e.

What are likely times i can pull on street tires? This is just for fun, so id like to be 14.5-15.00, i just want to guage how fast a nitrous's SOHC Non-vtec d17 on nitrous can go to see if its worth the $$$.

Thanks for any imput you guys may have.

Hey, i did some searching found some of my answer. See many people running 14.1's-14.7's on a 50-75 shot.

So onto a few more questions

Can stock clutches hold nitrous well... or is it time to get a new one when the bottle arrives?

Also, Id rather not spend a lot of $$ on tuning, yet i dont want to ruin my engine. Can this be done? I know SAFC is garbage but is it better than nothing? It seemed a lot of people weren't tuning there nitrous, is this working for u?

Thanks

i think the stock clutch will hold just as long as you let it cool down between runs and dont spray in first. you pretty much answered all yor own questions.

You need to spray in first if you want to run good times. I did it all the time with my nitrous kit and it never hurt the clutch.

I had bought a used clutch in case mine ever blew for cheap.

I could have high 13's with my setup (untuned) on street tires. The NX kit comes pretty well tuned in the box as im sure the Zex kit does as well, but you can use a SAFC if you feel it's neccessary.

BTW, I have my old kit for sale if you are looking for one.

What kinda kit? does it include any options, bottle heater, purge? what size jets? Why did u change?

also, whats your setup? Id like to get this done for cheap as i stated, no use waisting $$ on a D-series that later will be junk. I just want a cheap ebay header, and a GOOD nitrous kit, then i can always throw that on a K.

Check my for sale thread in my signature.

Comes with bottle heater, purge, 35-50-75 shot jetting. Throw on an ebay header and downpipe and you're ready to go.
