are you sure your headunit is securelly braced? i never saw any problems with newer mp3 players. how old is the headunit? the headunit is more likely to skip when listening to audio cd's than mp3's. if it was sony, then i would have understood cause i had one (my first headunit) and it would skip for any little thing (bass, small bumps, ......)

turn the radio down or quit buying headunits from wal mart.
honestly dont know, unless its not secured like reverb said. my subs skip my factory head unit and the bolts for it have never been touched. if the headunit is used, make sure it is wicked clean. if its new, just get some crappy techno and no one will know its skipping.

Um it does it when i turn it up.. and every time i turn it up not just once in a while.. i dont think its back strapped cause i cant get around to strap it once i put the deck is in.. i have had this unit for about 2 years now so its not that old..

ive got a deck in my truck ive had for about 5 or 6 years. old azz jvc still playin. got 2 12's in there and i dont have any problems. you might wanna try pullin the dash apart and double check that everything is tight and all fasteners are in place. if it still skips, ship it to me so i can blow it up with my sks. im fresh out of computer monitors and tvs to blow up.

Take the headunit bezel completely out. Check to make sure the backstrap is on there. Also, if the iso mount screws line up with the holes in the factory cage install those as well (if they aren't already installed). If the holes don't line up, mark, remove either the factory cage, or the hu and drill holes so you can mount with the iso screws. The unit shouldn't move after that. If it still skips, check the cd. If the cd is flawless, take it back to where you bought it and complain to them about selling you a crappy unit.
it does it with both mp3 cds and audio file cds.. you can so tell its the cd that skips and not defects with the product cause you can hear the cd try to start reading again.. i will try your advice Mr.Playa and see if that will work.. i also just bought an ai-net aux input for my alpine so i can connectzan ipod since the nanos dont have any moving parts.. and if none of that works then its all yours unclejuice.
