i have the eclipse avn-5435, it has all those features, but not too good for sound settings, the pioneer avic z1 would be the best, but it's pretty expensive right now. the alpine iva-w200 looks pretty good, it has bluetooth, but it doesn't have navigation. pioneer avic d2 has navigation but can't play dvd's (from what i've heard).
Can the Eclipse play video DVDs? is this the newer model of your avn=5435 http://cgi.ebay.com/ECLIPSE-AVN5500-...QQcmdZViewItem ? btw if u can watch DVD with ur Eclipse, do u have to take out the navigation DVD to watch video DVDs?

yes it can play video dvd's, and yes you need to take out the navigation dvd to watch movies. there is one slot for cd's and one slot for dvd's, you can listen to mp3's while the navigation dvd is in the other slot. mine is not that one, mine has a few more features than the one you showed me there, probably the next step up. you can also hook up a backup camera and a ps2 or whatever you want, too much to list.
thanks for ur info! another thing, about the back up camera. Will the screen automatic switch to back up camera when u put gear into "R" ?because somebody told me that the pioneer will automatic do that.

If money is not an issue, my vote goes for the pioneer Z1. It does it all, DVD, Navi, Ipod ready, BT, Sat Radio, etc...
btw, with the rear view camera mode on the Z1. I pretty sure you need to purchase your own rear view camera. I don't think one's included.

yeah I have the pioneer avic d1 and I love it, but really wished that I would have waited for the Z1 because that head unit is amazing. It does everything phuviano said and it has navtraffic which gives traffic info(subscription requiered), here in Los Angeles nav traffic saves me a lot of time. I really would suggest getting the Z1 over the eclipse headunit. It also has a 30 gig hardrive.

. BTW can u watch video DVD's with you D1? I did a lot of research into the topic before a couple of weeks back. With the recommendation of a good friend, the best system set up that we could find would be a Kenwood setup.
Although the Pioneer systems are great feature wise, they are very expensive.
Kenwood KNA-G510 is the best set up that I've found thus far
This is a GPS Navigation, which is a Garmin product, that adds onto pre-existing Kenwood DVD/TFT monitors. You can use MOST Kenwood monitors, but for the best bang for the buck package, look into the Kenwood DDX-6019 which is a double-din indash unit.
6.95 inch screen, TFT, add on bluetooth accessory (Sold seperate, KCA-BT100), MPEG 1 & 2 support, plus jpegs ready for reverse camera setups and more.
******* Major reason why I recommend this unit? The GPS System, KNA-G510 does not use DVDs! It simply uses and SD card that you download the maps onto from the Garmin website They are not free as far as I know, but the map updates only cost like $100-$125... I looked into the AVIC systems....their software from what I recall was at about $400 for the newest year's DVD.
Out of all the setups and systems, Either go AVIC Z1 or N3 or the Kenwood setup.... but the Kenwood setup is solid and much less expensive....around $1200 to $1400 instead of $1800 to +$2000
Just my 2 cents. It all depends on how much you really need out of the unit.

I have an Eclipse AVN 5495. This is a great deck and fills up the dash. The only down fall is that you have to rip MP3's in real time. Oh well. Also the ipod feature now works with the AVN 5495, you just need to get the update disc.
i checked crutchfield and they don't mention anything about double din setups being compatible with the 04 civic. what kind of install kit are you guys using to install your double dins and wiring harness adapter?
i really like the look of a LCD double din.

I had mine custom with fiberglass and repainted to match stock interior color, looks flush and like stock, everyone thinks it came with the car. It cost me around $150 to do it on top of the navigation install, but they did a damn good job.
