Buy brand name gauges. Most likely they are better engineered than generic type.
IMO narrowband a/f (from your link) gauge is useless, beacuse it doesnt give any usefull readings.
It is kind of Chtistmas light gauge.

^^^ jack burton, are all those gauges really necessary? i was thinking of only getting a boost and a/f gauge, possibly a 3rd one. 5 seems like all too much, mind i am also on a budget. would probably only look to spend about under 250 bucks for all my necessary gauges.
i was looking at
http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?T...lt&PN=ATM-6107
http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?T...lt&PN=ATM-6175
^^^ doesnt say if it is wideband or not ?
basically the cobalts are within my price range..
is there one gauge i can get that has like the whole she bang? boost, egt, a/f ratio, oil pressure, water temp etc?
oh i was also looking at where to get a tan gauge pod for the a pillar on a sedan. anyone know if these are available?

I would at least get the wideband and egt. I did not even think of the boost gauge because that is just a must. You have to have it.
Widebands will be at least $250. If you have to, you could get only boost and wideband, but I would wait and get the egt before you drive your car. The other gauges are good to have because with a turbo there is a chance, even if you have a good tune, that something can go wrong. You could end up with some serious problems in the long run.
Also if you try to work with a low budget you may end up like one of the people who turbo for a onth and then sell the kit, taking a huge loss. Do it right from the start and take it slow.
Aem makes an "all in one" gauge, but you still need separate sensors. You might as well just buy separate gauges too, IMHO.
Do some more research as to why you would need each gauge. I am not trying to be a jerk, it is just that all the info is on the site and it would take awhile to copy.
There was a group buy or something with custom sedan pillars, nobody makes them. Search and it should pop right up. PM gearbox, he was organizing it I believe.

basically what it comes down too is all name brands such as autometer, greddy, defi and vdo and the aem wideband? seems like aem is the only wideband gauge out there... are there any others? i am looking up on egauges.com and i cant find any =T
can i just get a wideband o2 sensor then buy narrowband gauge but hook up the wideband sensor to it? that seems like a cheaper alternative if thats possible...
i was looking at an innovative gauge http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Innov...QQcmdZViewItem
and the innovative wideband o2 sensor http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INNOV...QQcmdZViewItem
if i could hook up a wideband o2 sensor to a cobalt gauge that would be great because they would all match hah so is that possible?

don't forget about Innovative or PLX for the wideband either of those can work besides the AEM all in one solution

Man, honestly autometer is turning into junk...every autometer guage i have had has malfuntioned or just flat out broke...i would recommend getting some
Stewart Warner Maximum series gauges. Silver face with silver bezel...the look hot and are very reasonably priced....
for you i would def having a boost and oil pressure gauge...along with an AEM wideband...for no more power than you civic will be making, that is sufficient enough...
