t25 turbo flange on our manifold?...

Hi, i was wondering if it was possible to weld a t25 turbo flange onto our existing manifold because it is kind of wide at the bottom. I know they do it to the HF manifold for the d16 motors. If not, i want to take an HF manifold, have a t25 (14b) turbo flange welded onto that and take the adapter plate that connects it to your motor off of my stock d17 manifold and have that welded onto the d16 (HF) manifold. Would that work?!?! or is it just cheaper to buy a manifold for a t3 and have the flange replaced? I NEED HELP!!

The HF manifold was a single cast piece and it was pretty short. The D17 manifold is a tubular manifold, and the collector is welded on, if you hacked it off, you'd be left with a bunch of pipes hanging and would need to put a new turbo collector on, it would hang pretty damn low and you'd have little dinky runners. I also wouldn't waste the time trying to make an HF manifold fit. The ports are different, as is the bolt pattern, and you won't be able to move the runners around since they're cast. You may be able to port match it, but by the time you're done.... why bother? Also, welding stuff to cast iron is tricky business, you need to heat it up and weld it while its hot or it doesn't hold, even then... its a gamble to weld something cast to something thats rolled and machined (like a turbo or head flange).
Just buy a premade mani. The HKS one is in the $240 range and works pretty darn well for a cast iron manifold.
