hey my maintanence light comes on and blinks for a long time "about 30sec" when i start my car... it didn't used to do that... my gf says it's because i've driven over 8000 miles?... but i dunno.... any ideas?

The maintenance light blinks at first & then at 10,000 miles it will stay on until you reset it, to reset it all you have to do is turn the key on & push the Trip-odometer button in on the dash & hold it for like 10 seconds, it will go off then. I believe thats how I reset mine, the instructions to do it are in your owners manual but I'm 99% sure thats how I did it. That light comes on to remind you to get your 10,000 mile maintenance done.

thx man, that thing is annoying...i see no real purpose in it when i comes on every freakin time when i start the car! always scares the crap outta me!

The light starts flashing on <font color=white style="background-color: 3E3E3E;">every</font ft> 12800km (8k mile) and stays on when it reaches 16000km (10k mile) if not reset.
This is done to remind you of the regular/normal maintenance interval. Both normal & severe service schedule is in the manual.
