maybe my future K20a2
well my friend has a junkyard, and he's had this K20a2 for about a year now. my question is tell me, a $1000 for a K20a2, 6spd., engine harness,axles, 5-lug from a rsx, rsx wheels-n-tires, and some other goodies too. but it does need a new intake manifold, alternator, since i didnt see one. but i got to convert from a auto to a manual. will this be a good buy or should i save for a front clip?










well... you can still put cams and springs and retainers while the motor is still in the car... the only time you might want to pull out the motor is to put in aftermarket pistons and rods... other than that it all depends on how much HP you want

see it's some Bulgarian kids that have a junkyard, and it was out oif a 02 rsx i think, but they say it cranked up b4 they took it out, so i dont know if it's seller's rambling or not! i mean my friend philip just swapped a K20a3, and he heard about this from me, and he hates it since my total swap will come out the same or less than his! and having 40 more hp and a extra gear.

from lookin at those pictures, is there much i need to finish the parts to have before i install, i still need the mounts, subframe, intake mani, alt. i think, i didnt see one, is thee more you could add to from lookin at this if you dont mind....
Looking at that engine I would say you are getting what you pay for. It is really torn apart and just from a visual you are missing alternator, powersteering, ac compressor, ac lines, looks like the injectors have been pulled, intake manifold, all of the hoses and lines, throttle cable, timming belt. That is just what I can see I am betting that the slave cylinder is gone, the distributer, and much more. You don't need everything that I listed above (pw steering, ac), but to make that engine work and keep your cost under $2500 it is going to take alot of leg work to find good used parts

see that is deff, what i was afraid of, i should you think, just save for the clip, best buy since all will be there and i dont want to have it and have to continue and by every other thing that is missing. save for the clip it is!
well.. here is how i see it...the k20a2 (type s) head alone can be sold for $1000.. so you are getting your money.. i also see the 6-speed trannys going for around the $1000 price range also... so in a way... if you took this motor and sold the head and tranny seperate you would actually make money.. considering you are getting the motor for only $1000 anyways... so IMO $1000 is a steal for a longblock and tranny if you think about it.. you have injectors.. so if you wanted to get by just to get the install complete you would need
subframe
ac compressor
p/s pump (i have an extra one)
alternator
intake manifold ( i have an extra one)
serpentine belt (timing belt) (i have a brand new one)
4 coil packs.. (not distributor.. we dont have one on our cars)
also everything else is all small change.. hoses...even the slave cylinder can all be bought for cheap or ordered...
anyways all the parts you need can be found online with tons of people selling it on k20a.org... and i already have half of what you need right here in my room...lol...the only thing you need to find are the
subframe
ac compressor
slave cylinder (order through acura)
alternator
coil packs

ac compressor

that not too much to look around for then...well. i need the goods to convert to a maual as well, i got the tranny, IF i get it, then i need the shifter cables, shifter assembly, and clutch i think...
