Chirping noise from speakers

Hi all, i just bought a new four channel amp and hooked up all four speakers in my car. the only problem is that when i have the sound down real low that i can hear a constant chirping noise from the speakers..... is it that i have the speaker wires too close to the power wire? please help! thanks

The Speaker wires being too close to the power wire won't really make a difference.. it's your RCA's...(unless you used a line level converter) is the noise constant.. also rev your engine a little and see if the noise gets louder...

yes is it constant.... um if you wanna know what amp it is.... its the kenwood excelon 4ch amp. i reved my engine and it stayed the same...... got any ideas??

sorry guys actually when i do rev my car it does get a lil louder and the chirping becomes more faster

Okay... I had this same problem at first.. so have most people who did a basic install in their civics.. it's called Alternator whine..

Easiest way to fix this.. Run your RCA's down the drivers side under panneling.. Run your power wires down the passengers side.. Ground your Amps using the seat bolt..no more noise.. are using regular RCA's? or shielded RCA's?..

um, im not sure what the difference between the 2 different RCA's is but i bout a rockford amp wiring kit so im not real sure of the diff... also does it have to be grounded to the seat bolt? i have it grounded to a piece of metal in the wheel well.... but thanks a bunch for your help so far!!!!!

Okay.. go buy a pair of shielded RCA's our cars and regular or UTP(like the RF one's in the kit) won't have enough noise suppression to help.. I used Lighting Audio Strike RCA's.. Anything about $20 with a shilded coating will do.
