Yeah I myself have very basic turbo knowledge and was just wondering what the difference between a kit like this and a good one by dezod was.
Im trying to get a little background knowledge because the idea of a turbo is in the back of my mind now if i get a good job during the summer. ( Im 16)

Alright I think ill wait for dezods newest kit to come out and see whats up then. As for internals, for the d17a1 i could get pistons from dezod, is there anything else? I see no one has made cams for non-vtech..

depending on the amount of boost you plan on having you shouldnt need to build the block. if you want just alittle more power 4-6psi which should bring you about 160-170hp if tuned properly you should be fine. you should be fine up about 9-10psi then are pushin it.

Off/T: Why couldn't you just use the ex cam and use a safc? Your not going to use the vtec lobe, what would it matter? My understanding is that it will switch over. I'd rather go cheap then waste money to swap the head for 1-3 hp...
On/T: Just no... If your going to have to resort to building it yourself (i.e. that kit), you might as well build it from scratch. Source a t25 from a mitsu, or buy a t3/4 from dezod and purchase what you need to or fab as needed.
Bottom line: If your getting a kit (normally because it's FAR easier than fabing) save your pennies, about $1,000 more than the kit for random crap, and then buy a REAL kit... all inclusive.

honestly you're much better off buying a used kit, or a refurb turbo than something off ebay. Turbos and related items for the most part, are not ebay items since there's 99% garbage and 1% good stuff. Get stuff like that form a reputable place, with a store front, and some good vouches.

every turbo on ebay is guaranteed to be rebuilt and not balanced properly.
also that front mount looks way too big to be put on our cars.
if you wanna piece stuff together yourself get a NEW turbo(even though they look new sometimes they arent so new inside) and dezod makes some nice IC pipe kits.
