finished pics of my yard....w00t!

front side yard...didnt really do anything here, eventually put two strips of pavers so ill have better access to the gate..but it wasnt in the budget and i dont have anything to park back there

front yard...the "tree" in the middle is a jacaranda and will eventually look like this. the two front palms are uplit and there are path lights as well

view out my backdoor, it sounds great and if you leave the door open you can hear the water in every room, but with the door closed its nice and quiet.

Extended patio and grass. when my landscaper gets back in town im going to have him put a tree for privacy from the two story and a plant to hide the AC unit:

view down the back wall, from right of yard to the left:

grassy area to the left of the water feature

now i have to practice shots like this...lol

I like it. it makes good use of an odd shaped backyard for what i use it for...my wife and i like to entertain and with the floorplan of our house...things flow right to the backyard...you can see the water feature from the front door, its a great focal point.

How long did it take for that backyard to be complete and what did you do with your dog. And once the sod was in and you had to water the sod alot did you fence it off or did the dog not bother it or how did that work. My backyard is mud currently and I want to sod I just dont know if I need to section of areas and do a little at a time so the dog has somewhere to go or just do the whole thing and it doesnt matter.

the front and backyard took 5 days

the landscapers had the timer set to every other day, 3 times on those day for 20 mins but all the water just ran into the street...it wouldnt absorb it all. i changed the time to twice a day, every day for 7 minutes so its always a little damp. its starting to green up and take hold now that i changed the timer. ill adjust it again as it gets hotter.

my dog didnt mind. i just let him out in the yard everyday to sniff around, but would mostly take him for walks in the morning and twice at night.

the sod has never been off limits to the dog. he did dig a few corners but thats it. its a small dog so the his weight wont shift the sod and his turds are big enuff to do damage.
