ALL Texas Honda Meet!

As the title says, all Texas Honda meet. Does this exist, or should it. I think we should try and put something like this together. Have a central location for everyone. I mean we live in Texas, nothing will be convenient, but accessable. Maybe try to get some sponsors on board. Try it out, see what happens, make it an annual thing. Maybe allow other makes and models, in there own section. If anyone in interested in this idea, lets see what we can do about getting it organized. Or maybe im wasting my time with this idea, i dont know, sounds like it would be kick *** though.

Yeah^^... like Kevin said this has been beaten down several times. It is just wishful thinking that this state would come together and have a nice "Honda" meet. But you got to think how big our state is compared to the other states and driving all that way. That is the main problem... people can not decide where to meet. Me, I am laid back and welling to drive if it's going to be a good meet. The last thread I seen on this site about a state wide meet was last year....http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ght=texas+meet

Well im with you on the driving part, I mean for most of us its gonna be a little drive atleast. And like i said before, Texas is big, we have a lot of ground to cover. This is my first Honda, and im enjoying it, and would like to share it with others, make new friends, and just have an all around good time. For me anything close by is out of the question, i already know i would have to travel. But im working on getting people interested in getting a car union <haha> together. So anywhere in or around DFW would be cool, same with san antonio, houston or austin, somewhere where it can just explode and be loads of fun, and not to hard on anyone trying to make the trip. But im all for it, just got to get more people on the outside interested.

I don't think it was a "grand meet"... But it was a local DFW "anybody want to come" meet. It would be nice to have a Texas Grand Meet. Like I said before I be happy to drive... but a lot other people wouldn't because of the distance or peoples schedules. I think that if we do have one we need to plan it right know and have a "date poll" and maybe a "place poll". Just an idea....

Hey eye_see_you, I know you told me a while back but how many did you have in ya'lls meets usually? Did you do the sponsors/marketing?

yea..its been rather boggling as to where to host an event with so many people.

ive been told we can rent out like 300 parking spaces at the cowboys stadium for like 200-300$ so if its gonna turn out big we could use that as an option.

That’s a thought right there... If we got about 70 people though the internet, how many do you think we would get if we advertise though the internet and flyers?

But then once we got all those people there what would we do (other than talk and take pics)? Because you know there will always be a "riceboy" that will get board and want to burnout or race right in the parking lot. I think we would need a sponsor (some Performance shop?)? The last kind of of car show I went to was at Hooters and they had a DJ, that might be a thought.

I think I might be thinking to big tho. But most of these things get started by the little people and just presented to the bigger people (sponsors).

Any other thoughts anybody?

thats cool enough and all chief, but keep in mind how much time and money generated will be needed. plus how many shops will sponsor a meet, rather than a car show..

maybe i was under the impression that we are having a meet rather than a car show.
we tried it last summer with stage 7 and alot of people pulled out at the last minute. so if that indeed happens how can we garauntee a break even so someone doesnt lose too much money.

we did advertise it online, to a few sites. look at the sticky thread at top i post a few things.

btw if we do have it garaunteed we must initiate a general account to fund this event

Oops... I guess I was floating off into a Car Show not a meet... sorry. lol

Yeah I remember all the sites ya'll posted turned out really nice. But yeah it is a lot of work and MONEY to get these things going. But I/myself needs to remember its a meet not a car show.

well if the meet is gonna turn out really big we may want to start up a general fund of everyone coming..like $10 each for food and other stuff like reservations at particulrl places

if that is the route to take,i work at bank of america so i can get a general fund accout open really quick and free but i dont know how it will be fair for everyone since i would practically be the only signer.

Wow, im excited with whatever happens, and glad to see everyone putting there heads together to try and pull this off. So why doesnt someone in the DFW area go and talk with ENKIE wheels and see if they would be willing to get in on this, or like earlier said, rent part of the Cowboys parking lot, Gives me an excuse to be that close to the stadium <Boo Comboys>, lol. IM looking at it this way, where ever the biggest group of people are located, then i think it should be help there, just so it would seem less expensive in the long run. Alot of group effort going on and stuff. Lets keep up the good ideas and get this thing planned BEFORE HIN in Dallas comes in August....
