Just got my mitsubishi 2.6 turbo 4 banger today- PICS! 56k warning

i drove a total of 4 hours to get this engine for $500 from a salvage yard in beacon, NY. its out of a 87 starion. it has 92k on it. im buying this to rebuild with performance parts (suggestions welcome) this semester in school link to old thread

regardless of all the american muscle heads in my class, i sticking to my guns- going the way of the import...

pretty ugly huh? yes sir, turbo, 2.6 liter sohc inline 4- 188 hp@5000rpm, 234tq@2500 going into a rwd intercooled 3000lb conquest someday.

its got 3 valves per cylinder, has two counter rotating balance shafts, the turbo goes from 8.7psi on regular unleaded, to 10.6 psi on high octane.

what do ya think?

i think you should have gotten an old 4g63 but this is a great project thats not very common. also in a 3000lb car torque is good. sounds like alot of work, but some good fun too. good luck!

my first suggestion is removing the seatbelt from the turbo exhaust. it MIGHT melt if you leave it there (the straps).

Nice plan. The Conquest was the American version of the Starion right? Good luck with everything. That is definately a great looking project.

Yeah but imagine a Conquest pretty well restored with everything decked out under the hood. It would be a pretty respectable old school set up I'd say.
