hey whats up everyone i'm in the process of looking for a new cell phone service. can the people with nextel tell me if they like it or not? like the pros and cons? i hear from alot of people that nextel has shitty reception is that true?

i've been with nextel for 8 years and yeah at first the reception was shitty but now i get recetion where ever i go. there services are awsome and i never get the run around with them.

I myself hate Nextel, they are very expensive the only reason why I have it its cause of work, my employer pays for it too, other than that I wouldn't have it. Direct Connect is ok if you know alot of people that have nextel so you can use it, if you are trying to communicate with your girlfriend via DC dont do it its a hastle going back and forth for more than 5 min, if you just want to check up on her and be like "Babe where you at?" this is the way to go. Other than that I recommend any other service, my personal phone I will be using either cingular or verizon, cingular cause they are affortable and verizon cause they have different Pocket PC phone cingular doesnt. Hopefully you find this information useful.

i had a sprint (now with nextel) and it sucked in my area. now i have verizon and im pleased with the service. im not sure how nextel and sprint worked the whole reception issue out, so i cant tell u anything about it.

true that cingular has ptt now. actually many import phones have ptt available, just dependent on the provider

The only reason Nextel was even in the business is because their services were used by business for the direct connect. Now that they have lost their patent on that, and Cingular has provided the service (although a year later than they expected), Nextel is craptacular. Plus, now that they have been taken over by Sprint, Im noticing all these small minor Sprint charges on my bill, and my minutes have decreased while at the same charge, since our contract has expired.

I only have my Nextellly because of work, but even still Im about to ditch it and get a Sidekick II with unlimited messaging.

reception is whatevers, i still get dropped calls here and there. the only thing that i like is the free incoming calls but i believe sprint has the same thing. although sprint and nextel are now the same, i think sprint is a whole lot better

i have nextel only because my dad gets 30% off everything from the government, i like the Direct Connect, but the calls and reception suck, my contracts up in april so i think ima switch to verizon and get a RAZR :-D

i have nextel and just switched with verizon... I must say that I am satisfied with verizon and nextel sucks in comparison
