So I was commuting to work today...

This morning, around 5:30 on the Altamont Pass. Traffic was really going slow, and I go a little further and find out why. A van at the side of the road had a blown out tire. But I see him and he starts moving in his van again, and actually merges into traffic. I'm like "WTF!". The tire is flapping on the rim and he's actually riding on the rim. On the freeway, in stop-n-go traffic.

Are people just stupid or what?

Do you really want me to answer that question??

Seriously... I've lived in California my whole life, and there isn't much that surprises me anymore... especially when it comes to how people drive.

Californian's can't drive. There are a special few... but the rest are utter morons.

/\/\ TOURISTS are the one's who can't drive. gotta love drinving along the ocean, doing 20 in a 35 zone, hitting the brakes every 2 seconds just because they don't feel like pullig into one of the turn-outs to go watch the waves!

/\ which is why i've always wanted to get a bumper sticker that says (not necessarily in these words): 'Get the heck out of my way. I'm a local.'

maybe reversed, so i can put it across the top of my windshield as a sun visor.

locals can be just as bad as tourists. gah. especially if you're on a freeway... complete...idiots. ugh.

although... who DOES go 20 along the ocean? when I was going through monterey I was hitting 90+... then again, I did get pulled over twice.

It is imo just the sacramento area daily driving here is like the 9 gate of hell. It just frustrating no one gets there *** out of the fast lane ever and then you go around to get a finger by them wtf?? I guy passed me this morning at 90mph+ and his headlights where off in the fog in traffic. Out side of sac like going to the bay people get out of the way if you are doing 80 but ohh well maybe its a sign for us who have some kind of sense to feel bad for those who do not!

its faster to take surface streets from 50/sunrise to 80/watt at 8am/5pm. It shouldnt be that way. I mean like 15 min faster.

i-5 going to stockton can be pretty ridiculous too. people going 70 in the fast lane sitting next to a big rig and holding up traffic.

eh, after getting pissed off about bad drivers, i usually calm down after thinking "well at least i'll get there in one piece.......SLOWER...but in one piece"....that or my gf tells me to calm my *** down.

Yes it sucks. But atleast theres justification for people wanting to be there. In Sac we have everyone moving up from San Fran and La. We have 3 lil towns that are now considered a city. Theres this place called Natomas. Its where Arco Arena is. When I was 13 it was a flood plain with no one living there. Now its a freakin city. Now with these 3 new city growths they have widened one freeway one lane. Then againg you guys in LA have some odd stuff in the road. Every time I go down there I see chains, desks, batteries and other odd items in the middle of the lanes. And the LA traffic doesnt even get better on weekends. Yeah now that I think of it I have it good with my 45 min 12 mile trip.

this is all why i have a nice system in my car. if the traffic goes to slow, the volume goes up. if you're standing still in traffic, there's no need concentrate as much as when you're doing 70...
