Bad O2 Sensor at 59k miles? Legit?

I drive a 2001 Honda Civic EX. My check engine light came on earlier today, and I will be taking it to the dealer on Monday. I have not run any diagnostics yet, however, I think it might be the O2 sensor? (I just finished a 215 mile trip the other day, and I was getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. I have completed the trip before, and I have never gotten such bad results. Anyway, is it normal for an O2 sensor to go bad at ~59k miles?

Thanks.

well you need to find out what actual code the engine is throwing. there are alot of codes, so just assuming it is an 02 sensor code is a wild guess. it may be the 02 sensor, but it could also be several other things.

Why not go to autozone and have them tell you what the code is. they will do it for free. then let us know and we can help you out.
