Finally fed up.
I've replaced so much **** on this D17 (including the D17 itself), that I'm going crazy. It leaks, I fix it, it leaks again. Noisy tranny, clutch, rear main seal, tranny seals, blah.
So tomorrow I go to look at a K20a2.

I look at it like this. First off, I'm not going to get a new car at 1.9% like I have the Civic. For everything I've replaced and what the swap calls for, I REALLY don't think it's that hard. The worst part is the wiring and accumulation of various parts. If I had to go without A/C until the lines were made this is the best time of year to do it. In 2 years I own the Civic and I can live with the car for awhile longer with 200 HP, a newer motor and the ability to play with cars that normally would KILL my car. Is it a lot for a swap. Yes. Will I get it all back out. No. But I will get a substantial amount back and I'm OK with that.

lol. Here is what I posted on k20a.org
Hey guys I'm looking at doing an A2 swap in a 7th gen civic and know someone with a engine for sale but wanted to pick your guys brains. Like anything else if you buy something from someone who knows the value of an item you can get a fair market price, while people who sell stuff without knowing fair market value might sell an item cheaper. In this case the person bought this particular a2 in hopes of an EG swap but he decided against it. So I think this price seems fair but you guys let me know:
Complete a2 longblock from a Type S. (Low documented miles)
6 speed tranny (no LSD)
Axles
Shifter Assembly and cables
Ignition/Immobilizer/Key
I might not even be able to use the axles and I'll still need a slew of other parts but I can pick those items up for $3K. Sound like a good deal?
Thanks everyone!

Maybe you should take it easy on your car and it will last longer.

Mom won't be too happy when she see that the tranny puked all over her driveway! This whole puddle took about 10 seconds to make.

Yeah, my car was a POS. WAS is the key word!
-My car was leaking ?oil? (wasnt clutch master) under the pedals in the cabin.
-My 4th gear was basically gone, 3rd almost, popped out of 5th constantly.
-My idle went up and down up and down, as many of you heard, hehe.
-Loud rattling as i would hit 3500-5000 rpms
-Loud rattling as I would shift 1-3 gear
-One of my belts was squeeling when I would try to get my idle to stay still
-Grinding as I would turn
-PS fluid kept leaking out, wouldnt stay for more than a minute
-Big hold under my clutch/gas pedals from slamming my foot to the floor to get the POS to go.
-Clicking from 3 different spots as i turned
-Speakers sucked
-Car rattled
I think thats about it. I am missing a bunch of bolts, pieces, washer resorvoir, hoses, sprayers, and much more misc crap.
Oh yeah, and i got a new car a couple days ago. NO MORE CIVIC! I got 5k for it and was more than happy. It was paid off anyways. Guess what I drive now??
Ill give you a hint, the make starts with a K, and the model with a S. hehe.

1. Kia Sephia
2. Kia Sedona (minivan
3. Kia Spectra
4. Kia Sorento
5. Kia Spectra-5
6. Kia Sportage
I have a question, why does Kia have some many models that start with the letter "S"? Wierd!
Let me know which on Chris
I like the Kia Sorrento, I never thought I would say that about a Kia. But I have seem some nice things done to those around town. I guess you figure with the warranty they are offering who cares.
