I damaged my passenger DOOR HINGE!
Hey,
I have a two car garage and only one was in there. My civic was in there Head first on the left side of the garage. So the passenger door was on the right side facing where the other car should be. It was snowing outside so I decided to bring in my other car backwards. I couldnt see much but I heard a bang when I was almost in. I got out to check and I had forgotten the civic's passenger door open and ran into it, bending it out the wrong way.
I went to check what had happened and there was bending in the body in the joint area where the door meets the car. I managed to pull that out so it was almost passable. But there is a sort of hinge on the inside of the car there that consists of some sort of metal rod with a pin that connects the car to the door. That thing broke. Everything else was ok. How do I get a new one? Is it possible to install that thing? It looks like it just goes into the door. Like right into a hole. How would I get into the hole? The door is not lining up perfectly when I try and close it. Its a bit low. I pull it up a bit when I close it and it closes well. Im assuming if the hinge was there the door would line up better? I don't know.. Anyone had any experience with this and would know what to do in this situation?
Thanks,
N

Besides the hinge needing to be replaced, you may have caused the hinge pillar to get pushed in. If that's the case the only way to get proper alignment of your passenger door is to take it to a body shop and have the door removed and the pillar pulled out with a pulling post/frame machine.
