ok im planning on running emanage with my next project. Does anyone know if the emanage will be reliable. I hear good and bad things. I also hear that since emanage is a piggyback ecu, that the factory ecu still adjusts the engine.

I've been running mine for 3000 miles now and going into winter ive noticed more and more it trying to adjust itself out of where i had set it, i will need to make a winter tune for it. The BEST way would be AEM EMS if you got the cash to pay for the EMS and the tunning, plan on spending $2k+ for the EMS and tuning where as you can get a e-manage all harnesses and tuning for well under $1k

so when using emanage you have to keep tuning since the ecu adjusts itself?

only as the conditions you run it at change, as in severe tempature change, or change in altitude. When i tuned mine the first time it was 90-100 degrees during the day. Now the average is 50-70 degrees so it needs adjusted some. What happens was explained to me by turboengnr. If you understand how short and long term fuel trim effects how the car runs its fairly easy to adjust the fuel curve with a computer and a Wideband AFR guage.

Also a way to look at is the e-manage has a set % of fuel and timing that it will add or subtract at either throttle position or boost level. Where as the stock ECU will try to adjust the fuel and ignition curve based on the varrying conditions and the e-manage will still add/subtract as you programed it and the car will tend to run poorly cause your not currently running say at teh same outside air tempature that you were 6 months ago when you tuned it. Does that make sense?

So with the aem ems wouldn't the same thing happen i mean wouldnt you need to re tune when it changes temperature? Or will it automatically adjust itself? The emanage is alright i want the aem ems now though, after what everyone says about it i gotta have it

Im by no means an expert on EMS but i assume that it would have a map that is coolant and intake air temp adjustable and this SHOULD take care of that issue
