i got a couple of opinion questions...i've seen the diy on smoking your tailights...and i know how to do it... but i want some oppinions on it...i live in so-cal...is it illegal to smoke my tailights? also, how dark is it on your car if you've already smoked your tailights? and one more question, should i fully smoke the reverse light, lightly smoke it and smoke the rest of the light fully, or should i just not smoke it at all? your opinions would be appreciated...thanx

its illegal everywhere. i would say smoke them then lightly smoke the reverse lights.or do what someone else did on here and only smoke the top so it looks sorta like a TSX it looks hot like that.

its only illegal if u are not able to see your brakelights/lights from 300 feet, how do i know?! i asked a cop lol. if u dont believe go ahead and ask. my are freaking dark... too dark, but i can see it with in 300 feet.

I say leave the reverse light clear, gives it a clean look but it depends if you got the white reverse or that weird redish reverse.

I've smoked mine a while ago and had no problems with cops (I live in Cali, too). One time I remember driving on I-5 fwy at night and suddenly i see one light getting closer and closer and guess what... it was a cop on a bike. He looked at me for 5 seconds straight and... I was scared shitless, cuz I was going 85mph in 65mph limit, so I started to slow down. Suddenly, he took off. That was only incident that I had with cops. I drive pretty often and cops don't seem to have problems with my tails, at least for now
Anyway, when you decide to smoke ur tails, u just got to know the limits.
By that I mean use ur head, dont put too much paint on the tails.
BTW: I've covered the reverse lights on my tails with a scotch tape before
I started sprayin' the tint.

has anyone tried/has pictures of an 02 sedan tail with ONLY the pink reverse light smoked out? like a light greyish color?
