Stock D17 Turbo
Stock D17 Turbo
I was wondering who has had success in running more than 4 psi on there D17? I didnt want to over boost it and withn my 4 pounds i am pushing 160whp. If someone could inform me on how much the stock engine could hold that would help.

I know a guy on here is running I think some where around 12 psi on stock everything for about a year now. He doesn't post as much anymore... The bastard... He'll post now, cause I'm talkin about him. lol.
4 psi @ 160whp
hmmm interesting, if so what turbo kit do you have? Size of the turbo, what type of setup? manual or auto? because you know, at 4 psi, its kind of hard to believe with the small turbos that are available to our cars that you can be making 160 whp. Maybe thats the the crank?
ya i am going off on the railroad to work and after my first pay i am doing a tranny swap. They are supposedly capable of holding 9 PSI. I know for a fact i need a upgraded valve body kit. My friends lexas 1s300 is an auto too and he has 297 WHP and when the tranny changes gears it pops same with mine.

wow 160whp on 4psi is really really hard to believe. im running 7psi but not sure of my numbers im completly street tunned. what fuel system are you useing, what abotu a management system. got a dyno chart to post up?
I would have to go back to my house to get the dyno chart. I have 440cc RC injectors, 255lph fuel pump, Aem fuel rail and pressure regulator. I am using a V-afc2 on my injectors.
What do you have fuel wise?
I was running 6 pounds untuned and without a fuel system and was not even close to even putting out what i am.
0-70 i am side-by-side with a G35 or 350Z
But after that they take off and leave me not too far behind

right now im useing teh VAFCII to engage my vtec but not for tunning. and an SF fuel system with stock injectors gettign 440cc soon. would you be able to post your maps for the VAFCII. might have to try it out if you do. and im guessing you have a return fuel line too.
Dont have a return yet dont need one. The regulator is just for the pressure gauge. I can give you my map but it would have to be in the same PSI and atmospheric pressure level or close or it will be off. I dont like using my vafc2 to control the vtec i turned the optional settin where you can adjust it off. So now it engages at 3000 automatically

what type of fuel pump are you using?
you have a large fuel pump, large injectors, and only using a vafc to tune it?
Also, how did you get a fuel pressure regulator on a returnless fuel system?

i still dont understand how you can hook up a regulator on a non-return line car. Did you simply cap off the return end of the regulator?
I am really trying not to flame you. I just want to give benefit of the doubt and hear your answer.
