So, your just handed a check for 35k...
and you sleep on it.
The next morning you wake up and head on down to the local dealerships. You have 5 dealerships in a line and your going to buy one of there sports/performance car. You have:
Honda - 2005 s2000
Mazda - 2005 RX8
Mitsubishi - 2005 Lancer Evo GSR
Nissan - 2005 350z
Subaru - 2005 WRX STi
So out of these five cars, which one do you walk away with after it's all said and done? Now, for those who are wondering that 35k buys that car, the money left over is non existence, no mods etc. Be honest, and explain why you see yourself in _________ car. Also what car would you want to mod the most (show/go)?
The reason I ask, is because a friend ask me the other day (he owns a 7thgen coupe), so I figure I ask the 7thgen enthusiast forum
P.S. Let's not bash the manufactor cars, if you don't like it... just keep it to yourself.

i think you should add g35 as well because you can get one for 35k as well. Reason i would get a g35 would be good amount of power of for the money, sportniess and luxury at the same time.
From the list though, i would say EVO or STI. You get the utility of 4dr, good power and lower insurance. Most insurances count any 2dr a sports car.
35k has so many cars in range though. I think your friend should consider the new 3 series and the IS250 or 350 as well.
I think the most mod friendly would probably be the EVO or STI or the older IS300 with supra engine.

you really need to drive them imo to be sure. But just with what I know, I would prolly end up with the rx8. If you drive em, you may find something that you can't live with and that will disqualify that car already.

well i got an EVO MR....and that thing is FASTTTT!!!...we have raced all the cars on that list...stock of course... and beat them but the STi is the only one that would make our MR have to really push...i mean the STi is rated to be almost a half a second slower than our EVO...so...i would say..STi or EVO....remember....our EVO is stock...so if u were to mod any other car on the list im sure they can be faster..but no modding...umm yea..EVO or STi....just depends on the looks....the 2006 STi really looks $hitty..the EVO 9 is very cute i must say...yes i know...i said cute...i can marry my EM2 if i could lmao

Random thoughts:
Either the sti or evo.
The s2000 and the rx-8 both handle great. The s2000 also has one hell of an engine, as well as gearbox. The same could be said about the rx8 engine, but not really
The s2000 and the z have very little room.
The z does have a certain style to it, but I think the sti is just as stylish, but I know most people think the z has the most style.
overall I would go with the sti, well maybe evo, they are both amazing cars.
How much would a g35 sedan cost, cause I would go with that if I could. tt or s/c a g sedan, that=TOPS

never haveing driving any of these but seeing what they all can do i would say the evo. because it is a 4 door, and it is easier to work on when things break than the sti is.

im gonna say the S2k. for one, my insurance will be lower than my damn civic. i would get the most gas mileage out of it, from the list you gave, and scince its a honda, it has aproximatley 1 billion mods available for it. i would have to go with the Mugen route if i were to mod it. (duh) it would be a clean sleeper, except for the dual exhaust. and i also like the fact that stock on stock it can kill a porche.
my last reason is in my sig.

I would take the RX-8.
White, 6 speed, Touring Package M/T, Appearance Package, Rear Wing Spoiler, Alarm Upgrade, Navigation
The only one there I dont like is the STi. The EVO is OK at best, too. Those 2 are too "fast & furious" looking for me.
350Z is nice, RX8 nice, and S2000 nice. I love all 3. Its was such a hard choice. But the RX8 has the best overall package IMO.

definately a Evo they are insane vehicles i drove one and i was just flat out impressed and i know people who drove a sti and then the evo and bought the evo cuz it performed better. little modding is needed for the evo and sti, but the evo will reign as king.

buy a beat up eg shell, pick up a K20a2 swap and ship the motor off to be fully built, order the full race kit and boost the motor and blow all you suckas away
G35 coupe . hands down hottest car out now in that price range. It's the best overall combination of speed and luxury.
If you're going for pure speed then I'd take an EVO just cause it's so fast and looks better thna the sti imho.

what you do is go to this thread and tell the kid that the game is over and the car is yours.
