Long story, but basically, I was pulled over and inspected for 25 minutes yesterday by two policemen. Their reasoning was none other than "your exhaust," which is a Greddy Evo2.
Anyways, I got a ticket to go to a testing center or something like that... basically a fix it ticket, i guess.
So, what should I bring with me? I heard that the Evo has a decible paper or emissions paper or something that qualifies under California law to be legal.... does anyone have this paper?
Thanks for the help.

dude, wtf ? I got pulled over for exhaust(apexi N1) and got my engine inspected by an officer a few months back in Granada Hills. Luckily that clown let me go. I've heard of the EVO decible paper, I'll try to get back to you on that =T

call greddy asap and tell them to fax you their papers. evo exhaust is legal and meets almost every states noise requirement. (A few states do not allow modifying the exhaust at all).
u wont get the paper unless u contact greddy and have a receipt showing u bought the exhaust from a legit reseller. Basically all you have to do is go to the state ref and they will test ur decible. you will definately have no problems passing that test with only a greddy evo 2. but if you have a testpipe, be sure to remove it before u go in for testing.
when i did the test i had dc headers, aem v2 intake, and greddy evo1 exhaust, also had test pipe but took that off. the decibals was like 92.x i think max is 95?

All I have is the FIPK II and the EVO2, as far as engine mods. I also have a booty call siren-- will they check that?
What is it that they will test?

they will check the car, but only record it. When i went in for the testing, they saw my nitrous, guy was a jerk, all he told me was if u came in for emmissions then he wouldnt let me but since it was a sound test it was ok. if the fipk2 is carb legal it will work as long as its not loud, i never heard it myself but i passed with my v2, dc, evo1.
call greddy first to get the number for the testing.

damn you have to go to the state ref for a legal exhaust? What does it say on the ticket. Does it say you have to go to the state ref?!?! I had a obx exhaust and fipk intake. Took the exhaust off and kept the intake on and I passed the emission test
i got pulled not too long ago for having a modified exhaust on my s10. i told the cop that it is a legal system and he just proceded to find something else to screw with me about. cali is the strictest when it comes to emissions and exhaust systems. but relaistically you should pass just fine. i have a dc header evo 2 cat back and random tech cat pipe on my vic and havent had anyone give me shyt yet for it. you can barely hear it at idle but if you get above 3500rpm's youll definately be noticed.
yeah, i just got the same fix it ticket and referred to the refferee center, and i was driving on golden lantern in laguna niguel too, so i had to put my stock parts back on and get my car smogged at the refferee center and now i need to go to court to clear the ticket. i hate cops ..

I can't have an officer sign. Says so on the ticket.
I talked to one of my family friends, who works in law enforcement and he told me that the search they performed was definately illegal.
That's the part that bugged me the most-- otherwise, I don't really mind them asking about what I have, since I have nothing illegal anyways, besides booty call.

i saw another 7thgener around our area it kinda looked like aznboysrfr's car. it had a 7thgen.com sticker in the rear window. i was driving through the aliso shopping center going to sprint. i tried to catch him but i was in my dime and he was pullingout of the parking lot as i pulled in and i had issues to deal with at sprint. i am seeing more and more of those stickers around lately.

^ Thanks for the comment. What color was the one you saw in aliso town center? If it was black with SSR's and an intercooler, it was probably drivetofast's.
aznboysrfr doesn't have a 7thgencivic sticker.
