Tire prices affected by gas cost???

Has anyone heard anything about the cost of tires going up because of rising gas prices???

Yup thats what i heard from my rents. My pops heard it on the news or newspaper. dont rememeber. Tires are make from oil.

I believe plastics, styrofoam, and tires are all made from the refineries. I wouldnt be surprised if all of it got a bit more expensive.

yup, they all have petrolium dervatives in them, crude oil goes up, they go up too.

You should do a search for Gas Rationing of the 40's and you'd see what all was affected by gas prices. Not only will tires see an increase, but the food you buy at the grocery stores will go up, since it takes gas to deliver them. Just to give you another example.

I was at Discount tire the other day actually and the manager was trying to explain in english to a man who barelt spoke english.. about this same thing...they guy was arguing about how he paid so much for the tires originally and now he was having to pay more for the same tire now...it was funny cuz the guy kept staring at the manager with this dumb look.... not being mean or racist or anything ... they should've gotten someone to translate for him...
