So I heard we can put one of these in our cars... anybody done it cuz it is 160hp and 185hp so sounds worth it and k20's are so freakin expensive. but are these good upgrade... I meen i can get a full engine, tranny, ecu and everything else for 500 at the most and i'm thinking that if i take my time i could do the swap with the right parts anybody have something to trow in onthis??? i mean i knew we could do the k20 and i dont see why we could not do these one... cheaper then turbo and more reliable. but if nobody is doing it must be a reasson???

you cant put older engines in newer cars, it is against the law. But you can read some interesting stuff in this thread.

you cant stick those motor into our cars, because it will be illegal. unless you want to swap a 01 gsr or 01 type r motor into a 01 civic than it will be legal, but the 02 and up would be illegal.

in most states it is illegal to do a motor swap but some are not so depending on were you live you have to do some research but i have put a 99 civic si motor in my 93 hatch i would do the k swap its faster and will make your car fly but on a bugget do a b series swap its cheaper and a nice upgrade for your car just do the resaerch good luck

Illegal in Texas, what I have never heard this in Texas. Is it cause of emissions, I had older motors in my other cars, they were all fords, but I never had problems getting inspected. My cougar was a 92 and the 5.0 that is stock is the same style in the 94,95 5.0 which there are very little cheap parts for it so I swapped it for a 88 speed density and then changed it over to maf cause I was able to get parts from the junk yard pretty cheap. Any way I thought that was just Florida and California where it was illegal. Truthfully if it is illegal come find me, and prove it,lol. most of us in Texas dont have emissions laws unless the city has its laws like Houston, and Austin.
