bypass valve for injen RD1565
I trying to get one from ebay. Anyone know the length of the tube of the RD1565? Not sure if it a 2.5" or a 3.0"

here some item i seen on ebay: ( Not sure how good are those items) i want to get one before the raining season. There are many others, but they all look the same type.

I already have install my intake a while back, so all i have to do is take the rubber off and put the bypass valve? Not sure if i have to take it apart.

the length of the tube is longer then 2 or three inches, but the diameter is 3 inches.
and you dont need a bypass valve... waist of money. the only way you will hydrolock your engine is if you completly submerge the intake filter in water with the car running, basically drive it in a pond and get stuck or fill it with a water hose.

Do you have a bypassvavle for your car? Not sure, but if you had a bypassvalve going though that flooded street, would it drain all the water. My car is mostly use for going to school, which is not far away. What happen if rain drop or splash of water get suck in , what would happen to the engine? I want to be safe, rather then getting my engine messup.I try my best to drive careful.

Now like I said, your filter has to be submerged in water for anything to happen. Other then that, driving through a small puddle is ok.

A splash will not do anything. You need to dunk the whole filter in water. Suction must be created where the engine is drawing water only. If you're stupid enough to get in 18" of water, you deserve to hydrolock your car. Not to mention you'd have to back flood the bumper cavity, which wouldn't occur instantly. So you'd have some time to realize how stupid you were before you suck water in. There's a video on the net somewhere of some guy just spraying a hose at an intake as someone is revving the engine, water splash does nothing.
don't not go with a generic they are useless specially the ebay ones save the money and go the right way "AEM" have the aem one with my injen RD Cold air for my automatic and have yet to have problems in the rain and all that good stuff
bypass is not a waist of money, it could save u thousands of dollars.
My dad drove through this " http://www.pulse24.com/News/Top_Stor...9-003/page.asp " yesterday with my car and amazingly nothing happened to the engin thanks to the bypass. If u get a CAI, U NEED A BYPASS imo.
