To all those boosted-?
What are some top speeds you guys have reached?
Also i have read the threads pertaining to speed limiters/fuel shut off, but they seem inconslusive.

Its just i spent some time looking through threads and found nothing conclusive on whether we have only have rev limiter or an actual fuel shut off after certain mph. the most conclusive thing i found was s2000 man saying it was 125mph, but then there are those that say they have gone over 140 boosted. This will probably get locked anyway, but i will rephrase my question-
How many of you who are boosted have gone to the speed limiter and had the ecu shut off fuel??
What is that like??

No matter how powerfull your car is, even with speed limiter removed...
Stock civic EX runs approximately 65 mph @ 3000 RPMs on 5th gear, meaning that each 1000 RPMs represent speed of appx 22 mph. EX redlines at 6900, therefore your 100000 whp civic will be able to achieve about 150 mph with stock gears and final drive.
Just remember there is firm relation of between RPMs and speed, eg twice RPMs will result in twice of speed. Its easy.
I guess this should answer your question in full.

P.S: I'm a simple man, just dont give me

, just $100000 and should do it.....

^^How does that answer my question about going to speed limiter and being shut of???
So do your rpms just start dropping and for how long?
^^On 70 you can go that fast cause there are strait parts you can see, i just do not want ot take my car that far with out some better tires, do not go past like 115-120, it fun going that fast.

on a LX, in 4th gear you hit redline at 120, in 5th gear, there is a limiter, which only lets you hit 110. So if you hit 120 in 4th (bounce off redline) and shift, your car will act like you are bouncing off redline, and cut out fuel causing you to slow down to 110, at which point, you will be doing the same thing as bouncing off redline. It doesnt sound good, and I dont recommend going over 115 in 4th (on a closed course of course), or any more than 5 over the speed limit on a road.
Hope this helps, and the speeds I put down are the top speed of a brand new LX coupe manual. Anybody who says over that is BS. Do not listen to them, I get so pissed seeing I hit 130+ in my stock civic.

Its not like i do it every day or with traffic, its 70 which has strait part where you can see miles up ahead. I have only done it like twice, in 3 years, hit 120 that is. there are also parts of 83 that are long and strait like that, where i have gone like 105 5 times. The only thing i would worry about would be a deer.
I have never hit rev limiter so i do not know what it is like, always get real close and shift before. What could you compare it to, does it feel like letting off the gas, or is it different?
Yeah accelerations is more fun, but cruising at a high speed is also fun.

it feels like hitting redline. Have you bounced off your redline? Its the same thing, same feeling, slow fast slow fast quickly. Very shaky, not good.

It was crazy and stupid. Than he got off the freeway, parked and got out of the car quick. Just left it. Not like anybody would want to drive it, haha.
Dont try it though, you can damage a lot from going faster than your car is meant to.

I have hit 240 km/h on my sedan at 10/11 psi. 5th gear and still the ecu didnt lock. Then I had to hit the brakes since the road was ending
I have the top speed saved on my Profec E-01 (in case if someone needs to see)

I hit 113 in my ex without boost lol it just took awhile rofl. no big deal but i wouldnt reccomend it. I did it once just to see what it was like never did it again. I have hit the rev limiter though. just feels like your car is like dying out thats it. then you shift and you are back at it again. its weird but nothing dramatic.

Boost makes no difference. It will still cut out. Unless you raise the governor (EMS) it aint happening. If you are manual, you will top out at 120 in 4th, 110 in 5th. Why doesnt anybody listen to me on this. Its 100% accurate. Unless you are from a country other than the US, there are different emmissions and limitations and whatnot
i dont understand. I have a vp and when i first got it i was trying to top it out (i know stupid) and i was at 127 and just staying. Then my bros 7thgen cant even go past 115? Why is this and plz dont say its impossible because i did it and saw it with my own eyes
Yeah for real. People have claimed on this site for years that they have hit 130, 135, and even 140 i saw about a year ago from a guy with nitrous. I have personally been past 110 in 5th gear so thats a lie.
Is the purpose of the stock speed limiter in top gear ONLY because the factory wants to use tires that are only rated for the given speed 110-115mph, or is there some other reason for it being there?

I asked only boosted people cause the engine will not limit their top speed, so it will depend on speed limiter not engine power.
The lx is around 110-115
the ex is around 125
Canada may not have limiters
These are all educated guesses.
I did not want this to turn into a post where a bunch of people list how fast they have gone, i wanted boosted members only cause they have more of a chance to mess with high speeds, and i also wanted evidence from honda. I still cannot find the info anywhere!!!!!
