camber kit hitting frame.
Anybody else have this problem. I have an 01 sedan with 17inch rims and 40 series tires. In the back there is no gap but also no tucking. I have the SPC camber kit on. When I take a turn real hard I am hearing this loud hit. For a while I thought I was bottoming out but I'm not. In the back the camber kit arm is hitting the frame when I take a turn hard or it a bump during a turn. I took it to my local shop and they said all I can do is raise the car or get bigger rims or notch the frame. As anybody else had this with there setup.

I dont think its too low, It rides fine otherwise and I dont scrape on anything. I tried to put a picture up in here but it gave me an error because the picture is alreay on the suspension pictures page. Last page green civic thats mine. The tires dont even touch the fender well.

The cylindrical bearing that fits in the little recess where the 2 bolts that attach to the car... is that whats hitting the car? If thats the case, take a hammer and just make the recess bigger wherever its hitting. No harm done, the Hotchkis camber kit directions tell you to do this.

^^ if thats true then I'd say that its not your camber kit hitting the frame, but rather the rear anti-roll bar being pushed in to the exaust. it use to happen to me alot, and some times it was bad enough to push the exaust against the chassis.
Check to see if theres a little rub mark on your exaust, about where the anti-roll bar may hit it.

I just lowered my 03 sedan and its doing the same thing. I have the same size tires and rims with neuspeed sport springs. My rims are just nicking the round tube also. They are hitting right where the allen wrench is. Has anyone else had this happen?

Do you have a stock sway bar or is it upgraded? I had problems with sway bar/exhaust clearance and now I have a new banging noise issue, not sure where its coming from, but I normally get a quick, loud bang if I'm going over bumps or something. Haven't gotten around to checking it all out though.

If your rims are hitting that, you've got too much offset on your rims and should either look at replacing them with rims that fit (less offset) or buying spacers for the ones you have.
I will take my chances, the rim was hitting by about 1/16th of an inch with 3 people in the car, so I barely dented it with a hammer. That was before I got the car aligned, now it isnt a factor. I have had several bagged and body dropped trucks and you have to modify pretty much every part of the suspension by cutting or grinding for differnt clearances so I feel comfortable with my little dent I put. It would be differnt if civics had any power or were rear wheel drive.

Well if it clears the wide tires, then why would you have problems with thinner tires of the same diameter?
Think about it.

thinner tires will have different roll n give
also think my OEM rims n winter tires r lighter
all these factors r important when manufacturer sets suspension up for a car no ??
