stock clutch and turbo

ok so my clutch is burning already. Its way past time for a new clutch after turbo kit. My car starts to die sometimes and I have to gas it, could a clutch cause a car to idle bad?

I remember your post about the HG issue.
It took 2 or 3 pgs to convince you that you had a blown HG.
Dude just fix it.

The clutch won't cause your car to rough idle.
Is probably your blown HG causing other problems in your engine.

Your cluch and cooling system should be upgarded when boosting your car any way.

fix your motor and you'll know if your clutch is blown...how long have you had a stock clutch while boosting? it shouldnt last more than a month because of the torque, well its been done for longer, but it shouldnt, its one of the things that needs to be replaced just like the headgasket!!

I have been boosting 9-10psi daily for well over 1 year on my stock clutch. So far, there is 58,000 miles on it.......15,000 of them boosted. I just don't beat my car like some ppl do.

im not boosted at 12 psi im only at stock boost which is like only 2-4 psi depending on how cold the air is. My hg isnt blown, I did all the tests and made sure coolant wasnt leaking. When I had it on 8-10 psi it leaked a little, not enough to cover the hood, just a little. SO I am assuming everything is right. In the future, if I must replace it, I am going to get the head resurfaced first.

btw I got about 85k miles on the car with turbo probably 15k of that 85 in 6 months. Daily drives are fine, but I been having this idling issue when I installed the aem pulleys.
Also the sf fuel system sometimes leaks fuel when starting up, but after a good drive it goes away. I manage my turbo everyday cause there could be something wrong, even the littlest things.

You sound crazy!!!
Stock boost 2-4psi, what the hell are you talking about???
Not enough to cover hood, that does not sound so bad at all LOL.
Fuel system leaks, that is very dangerous!!!
FIX ALL OF THIS!!!!
So your car only has trouble idleing when you put the clutch in while slowing down!!!
It bogs down while you put the clutch and you have to gas it???
Again it sounds like you need to fix thpse problems, any leaking is bad, several is very bad, and get tuned by a pro. Then get a new clutch.
Are you serious or jsut messin with us cause if you are serious........i am speechless. Who installed your turbo???

agreed. Do ALL of the above, especially your damn fuel system. Or say bye bye to your motor. SF sucks on that part.

and its only 32 bucks from HONDA for a Nippon Leakless HG. Just replace it. Its cheap as hell.

I have a question for you.

When you coolant leaks, where is it leaking? Does it get all over the side of your battery, like its coming out of the resorvoir? Cuz if so, thats normal. Coolant expands as it heats up (thats why the resorvoir is at full with all that extra space). If you are driving hard it will sometimes spray out the top if you had a little too much in there.

Just a heads up, fill it up to the full line, and no more. It will expand and be near the very top after driving spirited. Try it and check it out. See if you still get coolant spraying. Everybody was telling me my HG was blown cuz I kept loosing coolant. My dumbass was filling it up too much. Once it got down to the full line, it was perfect. Once and a while at 10psi it sprays a slight amount out. Not enough to make a difference. Just keep an eye on it, and all fluids in the LEAST every time you fill up. I check my engine bay out almost every morning, and almost every other time I stop somewhere/turn the car off. Just to be safe.

^^i do the same, no reason to drive around with something wrong and not know about it. I've only had to refill my coolant once, and it wasnt much at all. Just after driving the car hard and then plus pulling the engine and putting it back in i lost a good amount of coolant.

I used to dirve my car hard...but then i realized it cost too much haha

lol, no my coolant aint leaking and when it was leaking I was on 10 psi, thats why I lowered it u **** brick. And yes gabe, when it leaked it only leaked little onto black battery cover. Now that I have it on boost where the turbo came with which is 2-4 psi depending on air, it does not have a problem at all. All I really need to do is change that crappy sf fuel system. It is leaking where the return line is not where it goes to the fuel rail, I think its pumping too much fuel when uneeded. I really need to get the injectors e-manage, but hey, no freaggin money.

P.S. I always check my coolant level and never filled up any, nor had to fill up any. thx for cleaing that up gabe, I know its the resovoir and I know its only doing it when flooring the car at high boost cause it dont do it no more when Im at this boost setting.
I just really need to change that dinky sf fmu/

cool, I dont plan on keeping mine on that long either. Maybe for another year if it lasts, then selling the car to get something better that doesnt need this much work to be faster.

Well its better building a civic that no one expects to haul *** then buying something thats already fast imo. But your engine will probably end up blowing up if you keep pushing it hard with that fuel system so maybe in one year you can atleast sell the body to someone or k20 swap because poor engine. How many miles does it have on it?

Let me clear something now.
There shouldn't be any coolant overflowing the reservoir at all.
If it is, is because the head gasket is leaking under high boost pressure because of detonation.
The cylinder walls move (shake, walk) when detonating, you may not hear detonation but is there.
As the walls move under high boost, they leak pressure into the water jacket.
As the pressure build up in the water jacket it has no way to go but into the reservoir and out to the engine bay.
When you lower the boost of lay off the gas for ahwile it goes back to semi- normal.
But is there, and it will continued to leak ever so slightly until it gets bad enough to leak cooland into the engine oil jacket.
Till you change the HG and fix the problem that is causing detonation on your engine.

You don't ever see coolant overflowing out of any factory boosted cars or after market boosted cars done right.

Don't be on denial your HG is busted and you have other MAJOR issues.
