Affordable wideband???
Have a look at the link and use it as an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
The guy says its comes with wideband o2 sensor and Greddy a/f gauge.
Does it mean if you install these 2 items you will be able ro monitor exact a/f ratio?
You will also be albe to tune by yourself?
Or I'm missing something?

For a full wideband set up you need: w-b o2 sensor and w-b a/f gauge + generic wires
Wideband Bosch o2 costs about $80, wires free
Ok, how much does a generic wideband gauge cost?...
Dezod, sounds as good w-b starter kit to me!
All guns are pointed in your directions!
Just found this in the Google:

Not quite
"The M-Series Narrowband to Wideband Gauge Converter is a small inexpensive device used to connect between the M-Series` wideband output signal and the input signal to any AutoMeter air/fuel ratio gauge . When no LEDs are on, the measured air/fuel ratio is 20.0:1 or more. When the LED at the 5 o clock position is on, the measured air/fuel ratio is 10.0:1 or less. Each adjacent LED corresponds to exactly a change of 0.5:1 air/fuel ratio."
So you need a PLX device. Also, a sweeping needle gauge is NOWHERE near accurate as a digital readout.
Why half-*** it? Spend the money for the right thing. You spent, what, 3500 on a kit and you can't spend 350 on the most useful tuning tool there is???

I'm not talking about myself, but sometimes you just want to be different: like fully custom parts, unusual car colour or whatever there is....
Setting up a basic wideband with sensor and wideband (ok electornic
) gauge looks to me as a good product to someone who wants monitor correct a/f readout and stay with basics. Not to discuss ebay example, but just buying w-b o2 and w-b electro gauge is going to works in terms of looking after a/f ratio? Is there anything else needed?

Yea, you need the controller.
Think of it this way...
You have the gauge ( TV)
You have the Sensor (Game)
But you don't have the PS2 (Controller)...
So it's like having a PS2 game, and a TV and no PS2

I am somewhat confused with all this wideband talk.. does it work with the car's ECU to keep the A/F ratio proper, or is it a a separate unit that just gives a better reading and you would still need something else to tune it? I have tried searching but just leads me in circles.

Its easy, wideband is the sensor with gauge, that can read exact a/r ratio at that particular time. Its a tuner's tool to understand exactly how engine running.
Based on the gauge readout you can adjust you a/f accordingly to have engine run in top tune.
With advanced wideband you can datalog info for future use...
Wideband is set up usualy sells in the neighborhood of $400, so its ot cheap.
Hope it helps, thanks to Google and 7thgens!

thanks for your help. So you still need an emanage or some way of adjusting the ratio with the data the gauge gives. My setup now has 2 o2 sensors, so does this replace one of the existing o2 sensors, or do I drill a new o2 bung. Would it get the best reading before the cat if you have one, right? Would this only be helpful on a turbo car or would it make a NA car run smoother? I am probably going to get a turbo some day, but this might be something to do now, so its already done later.

Need extra connect for the o2 sensor on the header, yes need somekind of fuel/air managment system, dont bother if no mods or with bolt ons.
On Turbo/Nitrous - Yes

I wouldnt waste the money like he said^^.
Unless you plan on boosting or spraying, dont bother.
You and i were thinking the same thing 03-Acura. I was searching ebay right about the time that you posted this thread. Thanks for the info.

Check it out, this hooks up to my current gauge. Not a bad deal, still comes to 350+ w/the price of my current gauge. but its pretty sweet. I may get this one. Anybody tried it out?

I already have the z-series autometer gauge. It can be hooked up to that. You would have to have an autometer gauge to use the one I posted. Im gonna check out what you posted.

that looks sick. It says its a narrowband basically, but gives you a more accurate reading. Im not sure exactly how that works, or if its very accurate. Sounds like a nice product though. Im gonna look more into it. Thanks a lot!
Peace
...this site is pretty nice, imo. awesome prices.
