Strut Bar Help !

Hi folks ! Just joined the club today ! Found this site an hour ago and have been wandering around . Great site it is !

Now my predicament . Nothing major bit reguards strut bar install on 2001 Civic Lx Coupe . It is Vibrant bar picked up locally , polished bar and black collars to affix to strut towers at factory bolt positions . Problem is all would fit like a glove if Clutch fluid resevoir was not also mounted to drivers side shock/strut tower . The raised portion of the collar ( equal in height to other collar does not rise enough to clear resevoir - thus not allowing one to install cross brace . I see a couple other bars of same design in picture gallery . Have those folks lowered resevoir , relocated etc ? Please let me have your thoughts and suggestions .

thanks

Shawn

Also, I'de return it. You didn't know that the product wouldn't work without modification. If you have the cash, then get a DC Sports front strut bar, or maybe the APR strut bar. APR strut bar is on sale at www.nopionline.com for $140. It's a lot of cash, but you get a hella thick bar!

Hi again ! thanks for the responses so far folks ! I have looked around more on site and do see that this problem has occured lots . I ran out to garage and did see a hole in shock/strut tower to which i can mount clutch fluid resevoir to . It positions it down another 2 inches giving me the bar clearence i require . Im surprised the Vibrant folks never designed around this little obstacle . DC Sports designs etc bring the bar forward and up and clear away from the resevoir . I should return the bar , but as time goes on i do believe other items and mods may require a little re-adjustment here and there . The better suppliers do their best to make these modifications as few and far between as possible , thus the little extra in the price - and well worth it . This is the first bar installed where ive had to make a little mod. i had a momo corse for 1995 Civic , neuspeed for 97 Civic , Ractive for 98 Accord . None of these required any mods or fiddlin around but again all three previous bars were in the higher end category . Oh hell maybe i should just order the better bar !
