Meeting with HONDA rep. over seat rocking....?
After having gone back to my dealer 5 times trying to get them to REALLY fix the stupid Rocking Drivers seat and not just JIMMY RIGGING it they have told me that they can no longer help me. They don't see what the problem is and can not "change the design of the car" to appease me they told me that my last resort is to speak with a District manager/factory rep when he comes in. Has anyone had to do this? If so, has it helped?

Hell Yeah I would meet with him. Tell him/her that you are not satisfied with the work the dealer has done. You paid your hard earned money for this car, and you want it to be fixed properly. Make them fix everything until it is fixed. Maybe you should, if you have the time, watch the tech fix whatever he is going to fix. If it is not fixed file a complaint with anyone who will listen, the owner of the dealer, whoever. I bitched a lot, and finally got my seat fixed, but mine only took 3 times. They ended up replace the whole seat frame. Now it is solid like new, and the way it should be. Tell them it is a safety issue, and if you should happend to injured in an accident you will take the dealer to court because they didnt fix it right.

District managers are more generous as well as wealthier than his lower constituents and they usually bend over backwards to make a customer happy if it is such a serious case as this... Soo be confident!! and expect a lot in return... rip off corporate america, there's always the lemon law as a last resort i think?
I have mine going in on Saturday. They tried to tell me that my 290 pound *** was responsible for the problem. I played the stupid ignorant customer until the service manager told me that.......
And then I mentioned the service bulletin on the bushings and he started backpeddling real quick.
Rude!

if they tried that on me i would have asked for it in writing, gotten a copy of the service bulletin, and stapled them together and mailed it to the BBB, then gona back with the service bulletin. remember if theyre pulling that sh*t with you, their doing the same thing to people without this resource who cant or dont know any better and just take it up the *** from the dealer, so you owe it to everyone else to make a complaint about them
pinkytoe, I don't know why there is no TSB showing on this. My service advisor told me that thee was a TSB to replace the bushings. I have looked myself and there is none.
Good luck, I have heard this problem can be annoying. They fixed mine but, it's still not the same. I just got used to the looseness for now. Some people don't find seat problems to be that annoying and worry more about what's going on under the hood. These are economy cars and the seats are not the best.
TRY THESE:
Make: HONDA Model: CIVIC Year: 2001
Service Bulletin Number: 01057 Bulletin Sequence Number: 624 Date of Bulletin: 07/01
NHTSA Item Number: SB624365
Component: INTERIOR SYSTEMS:SEAT LATCH
Summary:
INFORMATION REGARDING THE DRIVER'S SEAT ROCKS BACK AND FORTH DURING NORMAL DRIVING. *ET
Hope this helps in some way.

I got the same problems with mine, i got it early 2001 after a tragic accident that left me without wheels. seat still rocks, but i just lower the height all the way, then give it a slight up twist (barely anything) and it seems to help, but the way i sit when im driving the only wany im going to rock back and forth is if i slam the brakes every time i want to slow down. Im also on my second cd storage door (first one broke a month into having the car) this second one hasnt broken yet, but it was only in my car for about a week before i installed my aftermarket audio system. that could be a determining factor on its lifespan so far. other than that i have a concern about mine if anyone else has had this yet, blowing out an automatic tranny? about a month ago my gear symbol tower on my dash started blikning the "d" and the d3 stayed lit. car wouldnt start off in 1st at full stop, and would jump between 2 and 4 and occasionally fall out into neutral momentarily. needless to say i got into the dealer asap and not only did they not question my aftermarket parts, they put up no significant explanation other than it happens. i think theres more to the story they dont want to say...
