fog light switch change for 2002?
i got my oem fog lights and switch for my 2002 ex coupe from handa-accessories.com, and i was trying to get in and wire them today, but when i tried to put the switch into the dash panel next to the power outlet, it was too small and couldnt snap in, it just laid there and fell out. i didnt get any other pieces with it and couldnt come up with any way that it would stay in place. am i missing something obvious here, or did i get the wrong switch?

yeah i tried that, the front of the switch doesnt fit through the back.
i even tried taking the front of the switch off, putting the switch in from the back and putting the switch back together in the hole, but it still came out the front

Diznavis, the same thing happened to me to. I called up my local hond dealership and turns out that I have the wrong switch. If you have a coupe, the switch should have a color brown in the back and not blue. If you have the blue one, it is for a sedan...

Aw... Seriously? Man, I have the blue one. I haven't put it in yet 'cause my fog light haven't come in yet. Well... Actually, I think they never will. The company I ordered from didn't ship them out to me now and it's been 6 months. They didn;t take my money though. No worried. I have to verify this. I wonder if www.hparts.com will take back my fog light switch in exchange for the one for the coupe?

Take a look the box of the fog light kit to make sure thy sent you the correct one. I have an 02 cpe and they sent me a kit for the sedan. I called them up last Friday and they will send me a new kit for the cpe w/o the switch, as I already purchased it in the local honda dealership, plus a pre paid return shipment for the wrong item they sent.
Let me know what you think of the install process.

just went out and checked, and it is the wrong kit, says civic 4D on the box guess ill have to wait for another nice day to install them
you guys should just go to the dealer, say you bought it and they gave you the wrong one. Just say you lost the reciept and im sure theyll exchange it, probably would be a lot quicker than waiting for a new switch.

Diznavis: It snaps in perfectly. In fact it's in there right now. Secure and everything. I just put it in from the front and it snapped in. Maybe one of the clips that holds that snapper thingie is broken on yours?

my whole kit is for a sedan, so i guess they use a different size switch for them. theres nothing broken on mine, just nothing big enough to fill the hole
neo, thats a good idea, i might try that after work tomorrow. not like it will hurt them the do the switch, theyll just use it on a sedan. only problem is theres a sticker on the box from handa-accessories.com that shows the order number and stuff, and i wouldnt want to take that off then find out that i needed it if the dealer wont do it

Yea. I have done that on magizines taking off the address labels. Than they just peel right off. Try it out, but it could also be a different kind of glue that is stronger.

Diz,
why dont you just take the switch in. No box, just the switch. Tell them you bought it tossed the reciept and the next day when you tried to install you noticed they gave you the wrong one. If they dont buy it thats why theres always a General Manager to complain to
