some asshat in a mustang GT
I saw an old muscle car today (i want to say chevy cordova, but that doesn't sound right). I was coming up to a light and heard some tires squeal as the light turned. There was a car or two between me and the cars that were in front, so I looked to see what was racing.
It was a 94-98 Mustang GT and some old muscle car racing (i think the cordova). the GT won.
I went around the cars between us, and ended up next to the muscle car. I was in the right lane coming up on the mustang GT who started to slow way down. The light ahead was turning yellow, then red, so I sped up a bit and moved in front of the muscle car.
At the light I was next to the GT. His car sounded kinda loud, but that could have been all exhaust. It was a guy (and yes he had a girl in the car with him). She was kinda giggling, maybe about the race he just had I dont know. He looked over, kept one hand on the steering wheel and gave me a couple revs.
I revved back to show I was game, and then we waited. As the light got ready to turn I revved to 6000 ready to dump the clutch. The mustang revved up to be ready and the light turned.
Off the launch he got about half a car on me, and pulled a little more through 1st. He shifted to 2nd, allowing me to gain a bit while I was still in 1st. I shifted to 2nd with my front bumper at his rear tire. Through 2nd he didn't pull any more, and when he shifted to 3rd, I gained a little back. While I wound through 3rd I was pulling and pulled just slightly ahead. Into 4th at 80 and I started to pull even more. I shut down at 100 with him about 1.5-2 cars behind me.
I slowed down a bit and he stayed back for a minute. He eventually came up and as he went by stuck his finger out the window to flip me off. lol. what an asshat sore loser.

Rep Power: 338 i think s2ks are made to be v8 killers. i swear it all makes sense. 4.6 gt has 260 stock. 2.0 s has 240 stock. less than half the displacement and twice the rpms! great stuff.

Rep Power: 401 races are easy in my area. a few other milwaukee area natives have posted supporting that statement.
to be honest, i can hardly go by 2 days in a row without getting someone trying to instigate a race. today i was hoping for the race though, so i would probably be considered the "instigator"

Rep Power: 0 Its hard to say what counts as instigation. I mean, I know the cops around here have a riced-out looking car that they occasionally use. Does revving at a light count as instigation? Just driving in a riced out car? Having a loud exhaust?
S200Man, you've got to go get yourself one of those suction cup cam mounts and post some of the vids, I think you have amongst the most street encounters, or at least posted ones, that don't involve a Civic, of anyone on this board.

Maybe they can beat old beat up mustangs, if thats your definition of a V8 car. For that matter they can own base V8 F-150s.
As soon as they start running high 12s stock I'll give em' some credit.
Until then, drag racing an S2000 is like winning the special olympics.
It will also beat the gt with 260 hp besides don't get butt hurt just cause you don't have an s2000, go back and learn your **** about that car then talk. S2000man has videos of him beating v8s and supercharged v6

even the NEW mustang GT has a hard time holding off the S2000, and the S2000 can beat most of these as well, 99-04 mustang GT (this is the 260hp version and the S2000 is faster), Any year LT1 F-body, C4 vette and previous, etc. That's a hearty list of V8's so yeah, it certainly has the ability to kill some V8's. Educate yourself before you speak.
And don't knock drag racing the S2000. That's one of my biggest pet peeves of all. People who "preach" about the S2000 not being a drag car are clueless. I finally started laying into people who did that on s2ki and people have finally stopped doing it.
The S2000 is a fantastic handling roadster, built for pure sport, handling, and it's fun nature. The fact that it can STILL do high 13's stock is just the icing on the cake, and that power and straight line speed is part of what makes it a contender in A-stock. So you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

must've been on hell of a day. it seems like mustang/camaro owners are the ones who bag the sport compact scene today and that mustang owner seemed like one of them. way to shut him down (and in front of his woman too) 
and no, i dont think the s2000 was made to be a v8 killer, more like Honda's pure sports roadster. but it sure does give 8 cylinder hard heads a run for their money

Rep Power: 338 if i had an s i would make it a v8 killer. yeah hating is bad. an s can take a new mustang 4.6 260 hp. easily. its lighter and revs higher, faster. plus its a 6 speed. besides, i friggin hate FORD.
what I can't stand is people who know nothing more than how many cylinders that their car has and think becuase they have more they are faster. I am going to buy a 89 Jag XJR and go around telling vipers I can beat them becuase I have more cylinders. Reminds me of the guy that told Hotrod and I (I was driving) that my car sucked and his grandam gt was faster becuase he had 6 cylinders, after I handed him his a$$ 3 times in a row from dig and roll. People are just plain ignorant
Yeah this guy in town tells me his v6 car will walk all over hondas and that one time he had to slow down because he was going to run them over. I have had so many people say that. They are like why should i race you if i have a v6 and you have a 4cyclinder then most people in trucks think they are fast because of the 8 cyclinders
