kia vs 5.0L mustang GT??
Okay I went to the kia site again and this is the first thing I see. Apparantly a stock kia spectra was owning a 5.0L mustant gt, and an M3 behind them couldn't even keep up when they were racing. What, i mean, come on. The kia can't really beat a mustang can it?

If I laced up my New Balance running shoes and lined up against a Kia, I'd say I had pretty good odds. The Mustang would be in a different zip code by the time the Kia hit 2nd gear - and that's regardless of if the Mustang was a V6 or V8. And an M3? Nope.

well...after the weekly Redline meet we decided to cruise woodward. (me, crazy-J, another spec-v and sentra,and 98 celica gt)..
Needless to say Woodward is one of the best places to cruise, and run into your local muscle/tuners.
So here is a quick break-down of what we ran into lol
new Beetle, modded/wing/gauges/lights/rims, etc.
raced around us revving and punching it peridically.
finally he raced J and i was behind, the beetle got Owned.
he got along side me a few times, and got spanked 2 more times
Still asking for more, the 98 celica gt convertable, (stock)
raced him, and also wins lol
kids and thier "fast" cars...lol
here is when the fun begins...
box style 5.0L mustang GT, 10" sticks, open headers, tach, etc, and his buddy in a seleen convertable, cruising side by side. So the 5 of us cruise up behind them, i was leading and we come to a light of course end up next to him
Give him the nod and we drive off from the light...
40mph roll we both floor it...
even in 2nd gear, he shifts first, then i do into 3rd
start pulling, he lets off...
we did this about 3-4 times, 30mph rolls..and he wouuld always let off at around 75...
get along side him at a light and he says "that things fast..." "thanks, but your get me out of the hole.."
So we creep and punch it at around 10mph and let off around 50.. even lol
the guy in the selene was behind us the whole time and never lines up, and as for the rest of our pack,they were trying to keep up as me and the mustang kept going at it. mind you we had 4 2-way radios among us.
We all pull into the gas station and he asks me what kind of car and his buddies and girls in the selene laugh and do the "i told you it was" I get asked "is it turbo" ..."no...still at stock compression and haven't touched the internals yet....lol
This whole time with the mustang there was an older BMW M3, with a wing and body kit, gauges, etc. loud (but sounded like crap) I was actually trying to race him when we ran into the mustangs..when we went at it the BMW could not keep up either... He also turned into the gas station and inside asked if it was turbo, "it sounds good andis fast" lol
So slow mustang or fast kia....you decide lol
throughtout the night the spec-vs did various runs amongst each other...
All in all a blast of a night... can't till it is turbo haha. btw i had my cameras with me, but obviously could not stop and try and film.

Rep Power: 0 I think he just inserted the dialogue into there and it was one of those times where the Kia had to redline every gear just to keep up w. someone who wasn't racing. As for the M3, every single generation of M3, even the old, boxy ones (which are the best of all IMHO) could take a Kia down. I hope this thread doesn't become 7thgencivic.com trolling streetkiaz.com again...

that's sad, to hear ppl driving Kias make up so much BS it's kinda funny LOL. I guess my next car would be a Kia, screw M3s and Saleens...who needs a $70K+ car when I can get one that kicks all asses for under $8K.
