Average cost to replace alternator?

My alternator died on me. Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to be replaced including labor?

Might as well go to your local autoparts store, buy a cheap new one, take the old one in to get the core charge refunded, and replace it yourself if you're comfortable doing so. Once you get the belt off the pulley, it's as simple as removing a couple of bolts and unhooking the wires.
