Would State Farm drop me if i drop?
I have state farm as my insurance company and todai my friend told me that people told him that they would kick u out of the insurance if you lowered your car. Im goin to b lowering my car tommorrow and im sort of worried now. I noe they wont drop you instantly you put it on but if u get into an accident and they find out. Did i search and did see people gettin dropped cause of car modifications. TIA. Plz move topic if not in right place
thats why u go AAA... everytime im in some trouble they always ask is your car modified in any way and i tell em everything, they just bring a better tow truck... Especially the ones that have your car on the back instead of dragging your lowered car accross.

well its not that they have bad service of towing nd **** but its the fact that when u get into a major accident or an accident which requires estimates and the insurance sees that u lowered the car. from there they either just b cool with it or just drop me from the insurance. thats wat im implying(sp?)

Unless they are really paranoid they shouldnt do anything if your car is dropped! IMO how can lowering your car(assuming you had it installed properly) cause an accident? I got hit by an RV in the parking lot at work and i have state farm too and had to take it to the adjuster and they didn't say a thing! If they wanted to drop people who have modified their cars, they would lose alot of money! Now if your a ricer with a bunch of stickers an exhaust that is way over the legal sound limit and hovering and inch off the ground with some cheapo springs then thats a whole different story! Im sure as long as you keep a clean record and pay your dues on time, they aint gonna drop you cuz of some lowering springs!

thats my drop and its only has a drop of 1.75 front and 1.5 rear. Im keeping everything else stock except adding OEM:spoiler, aero kit, and hfp rims. other than that everything else is stock. thx for replies guys.
I have state farm. The corolla i had before the civic was lowered with B&G springs. SUV pulled out and my sis broadsided it, car was totalled. We had no problem getting money from the dumbass's insurance. just dont mention anything about the car being lowered to insurance and you're all good.

well of course they wont say anything if u dont get into a car accident and never show em/tell em. this all correlates(sp?) to gettin in an accident nd having to go get an estimate. but then again u couldve gotten into an accident and im just making a fool out of myself. o well

well i can't imagine they would ever find out. The springs I have look exactly like stock anyway. And from some of the rides I've seen here, there would be alot of people without insurance.
i agree, and if i didnt have a family and a child to worry about, i would do it in a second. unfortunatly i cant - so i need to find someone who will cover me knowingly that i have it dropped.
even if they look stock - adjusters comb your car twice over ( good ones anyway ) they would see em.

Ive used State Farm for years and Ive never had a problem with any of my cars being modified. Mine have been lowered, turbo'd, nitrous'd, wheels, lip kits etc and Ive never been given any kind of grief and they knew I had the mods on the car. I know I pay a little more using State Farm but they have always treated me good

Let me tell you a quick story.
Last year I took my car into my insurance company to have it appraised. I had a lot of work in the car and wanted to make sure I got what it was worth should anything happen to it. I knew that I would pay a higher premium for that but I figure it was worth it. So I give them a list of all my parts and pictures and copies of invoices....blah blah blah.
Then....
In March of this year I'm out of town at my (then) girlfriends place and call to find out why they didn't take the money from my account for the renewal.
They inform me that because the car is modified they decided not to pick up the policy and dropped me...WITHOUT TELLING ME!! Now I'm 4 hours from home with no damn insurance! My car had been parted out in the fall and now they were using what I did (in good faith) against me.
I had to later send in pictures of the car from the most recent show pointing out all the parts it HAD and then have a rep from their company come over and photograph the car to prove it was stock.
idiots!

thats not true, their theory is that since your modding the suspension, it will not have the same stock specs as it did when it left the factory - thus possibly creating a problem... according to them
ive phoned a few local brokers here.. and they offered to cover me for double what i pay monthly now.. haha yea right.
