im not sure if this belongs here, i just got a 05 civic dx coupe 5spd not too long ago. i dont really race it rightn now, besides the killer sound system its just about stock. i was driving down interstate 8 and i decided to see what its got, i was at 110mph at about 5 grand, then i caught up to some cars. i was wondering if anyone knows what speed the speed limiter or governor kicks in. im assuming about 115. i would really like to remove this bitch if i could, if its possible, could someone let me know how or direct me to the directions. with out it, i really think i could hit like 125 atleast since i got 2grand more to go. thanks.

the top speed is probably drag limited. otherwise your speed will be limited to a speed equal or lesser than the speed rating on the OEM tires.
so in other words, if you still have stock tires and were to remove the speed limiter and exceed their speed rating, you could easily kill yourself as the tires could shred.

ok noob. search. this has been covered mroe then a million times. yur stock tires are 'H' rated, which means you can go 130. the car will take you AROUND 125-130 if you give it enough time. you dont need to go faster, its a honda.

Simply type "speed limiter" or "governor" in that box im sure that you can locate a few answers to your questions, as this has been covered a few times. a moderator will likely lock this thread pretty soon because of the frequency that this question is asked.
BTW; you are right, there is a governor between about 110-130 for every 7th generation civic.

MOST LIKELY to keep this na for a while then go from there.

wrx at 20psi (said he was) with turbo back, hks intake from 60-120 even heard his bov i simply went like a hare passing a slow moving turtle. (i really dont think he did much to it)

LOST---->mustang cobra 60-100 (literally stayed neck and neck from 60-90 finally he pulled on me at 100 over told he had over 400whp all motor wow! even though i distinctly heard supercharger and its litttle whine)

dude, explain this better. You have an almost stock integra gsr, pushing out maybe 140 hp and you killed all those cars? i understand that you want to work your way up to 200-210 whp? that wrx, if it does have all that stuff should easily double, if not triple your power. an evo? mustang gt? both these are double you. i think i may be missing something, but it doesnt seem right to me.

adnmoh1, your GSR is stock and you claim all of those kills....??
421 headers by dc, skunk2 cat back, hks intake inlvoves only about 10 hp and im being liberal on these figures, i never said i was at 140 only SPECULATION, just putting down a conservative veiwpoint with 20-25% power from crank from specualtion that i have reached oe horspower figures after i replaced the old plugs wires fuel injectors and distributor assembly. I have not done a complete port and polish if thats what your trying to reiterate. i have not i repeat have not dynoed anything yet. all i have done to this car is a full replacement of oe engine parts to the car, have majority new oe components in this car. changed to synth fluids in motor and tranny. royal purple has a gaurantee that if run with other concurrent synth fluids, horsepower gain can be achieved, iam not saying it did i am not saying anything. I do have a s200 the tuning shop in my neighbor hood (MPH MOTORSPORTS) helped me on the fuel/ignition timing and vtec control. correction on what i wrote from previous post, vtec engages at 6000, where before was at 6200-6700. took out the crappy sub that came with the car weighed almost 40 lbs, and i wegh 180lbs car weighs 2672 stock. so this can help your calcs. The speed i have quoted is true to the point i have reached about 140, maybe less i was busy driving on that note, sorry.
the mustang gt was a late model 93-96, with gaudy metal wing and heavy bodykit.
the tc's were both stock.
The evo dont think was even playing with me to tell the truth,
The wrx turned out to be a 2.5 rs automatic so that explains that.

all these wins, are not an accomplishment by far people, when i beat a cobra or sti ill let you know.

even a stock WRX SHOULD be faster than a GSR with i/h/e even at freeway speeds. but i see it was a 2.5rs
a tl-S is gonna walk you hard at any speed.
evo, no way.
mustang GT, assuming pre-99, you'd have a hard time with any stick shift. auto would be close.
some of your kills methinks weren't really "kills"
it was an acura late 90s something then, 2 door coupe, either tl o cl, dont know bout that one, and the mustang was a pos 5.0 a friend of mine whos into mustangs confirmed the body style and why heres was no way a gsr could ever beat a gt. the stang had nothing done to it but the exerior mods i mentioned, so i guess my feats are pretty lame now that i think about it. oh well i did like my new top speeds though i guess thats somethig of an accomplishemtn for me, considering my other car could only go to 110 and start choking out.
