Tuning my Automatic transmision car ?!?
Tuning my Automatic transmision car ?!?
I know this sounds crazy but I own a Honda civic 96 lx 4dr with an Automatic transmission. And no I do not want to change my car
It does bring me to point A to point B but I would like to give it more power.
I'm sure most of you guys will say get an manual car, but I really don't want to change it.
My question is what could I change/add to my car to gain some HP?
Thanks,

You're really better off in a more apprpriate forum to ask that question. Say, for 6th gen civics like yours. This is for 7th gen civics, year 2001 and above. Also, it helps to check the FAQs found throughout this site for information reguarding cheaper mods for HP gains. Offhand, replacing your intake system and your exhaust system will give you a bit more power, but hardly noticeable. There are many more mods you can do to your car, and the more money you have, the better power and performance you will recieve. I suggest going out and buying a book on the subject, or perhaps a magazine to get some information.
So yeah, your question is not easlity answered in just one reply, but the information's out there, you just have to look. Welcome to the site.

Well, I do not now much about this, I read a lot and I was told changing intake, header, exhaust wouldn't really make a difference. So if I would go on with an engine swap is there much more to know since I have a Automatic transmission? Cause I didn't find any information for engine swaps on automatic cars... If this is feasable, well I'm still wondering what I should put in it.
I guess you are right. Thats what I thought but I still wanted to be sure. Cause the only thing stopping me from buying a new car is insurance $$$ so this is why I would like to keep the this one as long as possible and it is in a really good shape.
In this case if it's not worth while I'll probably just keep it this way until it dies...

Meh, get what you can afford. Ive wanted a WRX for the longest time and finally now that Im out of school (which I was paying for) I can finally get one.
Ive been into cars all my life and not being able to have a "fast" car for al these years was definetely a bummer, but good things come to those that are patient.
Wait it out a bit, it will all be worth it when you turn the key on your new car that you've been waiting for.
1 more month till I get my new baby.

Yea, they are amazing cars for the money. $1200 in a turbo back exhaust, uppipe, and ECU and you are running low-mid 13's and another 50-60hp over stock.
Im going to make about 4K when I sell my vic off, so Im going straight into a VF22 Turbo upgrade that should put me around 300+whp. Ill be happy with a car that can dip into the 12's.
