How much money invested in your car!

I was on the way home this afternoon in a kind of bad mood cuz I just figured out that I wasted 200+ dollars on a pair of projector headlamps that wont adjust cuz the aiming screw is stripped and i did not notice it until i got home and the projectors were on clearance so no money back for me! It dawned on me that after I did a rough estimate, ive probably put at least half of the price of the car back into it from mods etc. which is a little less than 8 grand!I realized that i think its time that i just leave the car the way it is and quit puting money into it cuz its never gonna be exactly the way i want it! Im just curious as to how much you guys think you have invested in your cars!

Its not that Im not happy with it, it just seems like when i buy something new for my car or modify my car something is always wrong with something! Not necessarily big problems but none the less they are problems! In other words, I dont recall ever completing a mod with out a single snare or problem! I'm just gonna get a few last minute items that i know will work like an HID kit and a big brake kit, pay someone to professionally install it and that is it! Its like with modding cars, you take two steps forward only to realize that you have to take 3 or 4 back! So it becomes this habitual cycle of buying things trying to make your car "perfect" which i know is impossible yet subconciously i think it is possible! So Im am putting an end to this cycle and leaving my car however it turns out after this summer!

ANY money you put into your car is not an investment, in the long run you are just losing money. Think of spending money on your car as an "expense" not an "investment".

He is right.... all the people modding the car seriously will be soooo sorry when they realize that they're spending tons of money on a Civic. I realized this not too long ago and luckily stopped before I did anything else. In the whole deal I'll prolly end up losing a couple grand in mods.... I wish I never spent money on the Civic cuz now I could of had enough money for the car I want and not bother selling all my ****.

Cars are a horrible investment.... you'll be sorry when it time to sell.

as for the 2 steps forward 3 back, yea its true, think about it, your taking something finely engineered and screwing with it with not so engineered parts ur bound to have problems like my lambo doors are a pain in the **** to line up and then the air escaping in through the jam is terrible
