Les is the man! Pics of grounding kit install...
Les has done it again. Here are the pics for the instal on my 04 coupe. Ill do my best to describe what is going where. Thanks to Les for making it and hooking it up, without him I would have had to call in for some massive
All photos were taken with my camera phone...sorry for the poor quality.
Pic 1: Just an overhead engine shot giving a good idea what it should look like.
Pic 2: Just to the left of the intake [may not be visible if you still have the stock air intake system on] top wire leading down is existing factory ground. Wire leading left grounds on negative terminal on battery.
Pic 3: Bottom wire is wire leading down from pic 2 - top wire attaches to the small bolt just to the right of the exaust heat shield.
Pic 4: Shot of lines leading to battery. The wire by itself attaches to the place where the fuse box is bolted down.
Pic 5: Long wire that attaches to intake [not visible if you have a stock air box] then attaches to battery.
You should only have 3 wires attached to your negative post. I added a 4th just to be safe - from the negative terminal to just below the battery where the exposed copper wire attaches.

bump for some advice. would you say this is one of the greatest groundint points you can do with the wires?
correct me if im wrong but i see:
-neg to chassis
-neg to throttle body? (is that point safe?)
-neg to lower engine block
-FROM lower engine block to existing ground
-FROM existing ground to valve cover nut
in this pic: how come you didnt use the same ground point but instead went with 2 separate ways?

For the two seperate grounds its the same piece of metal but just looked better and kept the cable from having to be run over or under the rad hose... all of the points are there for a reason!
I have some preliminary reports coming back over longer term monitoring and at least 1 person is reporting back an increase of 1.2mpg!

Ah yes, somethingcivic's car is an auto so there is ground to the tranny case as well. As close to the solenoids as possible...
Peace
I have FULL faith in Les' grounding abilities. The wires have been on since the thread started [date?] and I have not seen any adverse effects due to a lack of or over abundance of wire.

old thread, but i have 2 questions. got the pics of the auto tranny case ground point?
and by grounding the TB directly to negative battery post, does it serve a purpose? how about grounding it to chassis instead?
