Can't find mobil1 5w-20 anywhere!!
So, I've been looking all over town ( I live in Austin, Texas) and all over the internet, and I can't seem to find Mobil1 5w-20 anywhere! It does exist, right? I just don't understand it. If you look on Mobil's website, there's a picture of the bottle right there. Am I just not looking in the right places? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe it depends on location? some states may favor thicker oils while some favor the thinner.
if your real desperate, you can call mobil 1 themselves and find a dealer of theres or hopefully find out thru there website

you should use 5w20 and if you need to change oil to different type then go back to 5w20 for the next oil change. I change my oil using mobil one synthetic 5w20 and every autozone around here has it. Look at the shelves a little harder maybe? All I know is that the price raised about 30 cents per quart.

well, it's not on the shelves around here, anywhere. I've been to oreilly's, napa, autozone, advance autoparts, van's auto parts, wal-mart, honda. Nobody's got it around here. Maybe it has to do with Texas weather...in any case, I'll go to autozone and have them order it for me...I think the bastards at Jiffy Lube put 10w-30 in my car, so I'm gonna have to change it myself. Thanks guys.
0w-20 is recommended by the oil company for Honda/Acura vehicles that use 5w-20

ojay, is that mobil 1 5w-20 FULLY syntheic? or super syn. ?
on a side note: mobil 1 came out with a advanced fully syn 5w-30 motor oil that supposely lasts 15k miles? saw it at walmart. $30 for 5/qt

While M1 0w-20 meets the specs for Honda and Ford, rumor has it that M1 went with 5w-20 for a couple of reasons. People buy what is recommended in the manual and so people pass over the 0w-20 for something else. Only wrenchheads do their homework and seek out the 0w-20. Joe Six Pack doesn't.
Additionally, Ford and Honda dealerships saw M1 0w-20 as a reason to deny warranty coverage for some engine problems even though there is no evidence, that I'm aware of, that even hints or suggests that M1 0w-20 is problematic. It was an easy out for the dealers, IMHO. Moral of the story? It's up to the dealer to prove that your oil is at fault; not your job to prove otherwise. M1 got tired of the hassle of being in the middle. Ironically, Exxon/Mobil makes the Honda branded oil.
I haven't seen a VOA of the new 5w-20 and who knows, it might be 0w-20 that has been tweaked ever so slightly, if at all. I'd buy all the 0w-20 I could find, use it with abandon and when it's gone, switch to 5w-20 and don't lose any sleep.
BTW, all M1 oil is fully synthetic. SuperSyn is the reformulated version that was introduced following TriSyn. The new EP versions of M1 have a greater SuperSyn quantity than regular M1.

it's the one exactly on the mobil site http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...l_1_5W-20.aspx
so i guess it's supersyn
it's a new oil, so it should be on most shelves soon. you should call up your local auto stores, it shouldn't be a problem for them to get a hold of it.

I had the dealer do my last change and they put a mobil sticker on the front window, yet I do not know what they used for sure. What would anyone recommend? I have searched and looked all over the forums but I am still unsure.
