Owned a Calibra
I'm coming home around 10 in the morning and an Opel Calibra pulls up next to me in the left lane which ends after 200 yards past the intersection. I could see he wanted to go so when the light changed I dropped my foot to the floor. I had the better reaction on the light and a better launch because he was on my rear wheel up to 50 mph when he ran out of room and had to get behind me. Not a bad kill considering the Calibra is one of the big tuner cars out here in Europe.
Most people here probably won't know what a Calibra is, we haven't got any Opels over here in N.America I don't think (maybe Mexico does?).
In my experience in Europe, Opels seem damnably slow, you floor it and instead of the revs climbing the car just makes this pronounced buzzing sound.

They aren't all slow. There is a V6 Calibra which I think this one was. But I have heard the buzzing sound from some of the older Opels I've passed out here. The Opel plant is 10 miles up the road so you see them everywhere.
