help! anyone if you can help me find the exact location of the fuel pump. (anti-theft

2002 lx coupe anyone know exactly where the fuel pump is. i havent looked yet cus i just decided i wanted to do this. im going to cut the positive wire and route it up to the dash and mount a switch under the steering column so that i can cut off power to the fuel pump when i park my car especially in boston. im also going to do the starter wire and ive been contemplating messing with the positive to the battery on a switch inside the car. not to sure bout that one. any help with pump location or other anti-theft ideas would be nice thanks. (dont tell me to get a trunk monkey lol )

I would not do that fuel cutoff mod. Bad things will happen if you forget it off and try to start the car. Instead you may want to focus on other things. If you leave it for a long time, take the plugs out. Otherwise disconnect the battery or pull a fuse out. I'm sure there's something for that. Get the unbreakable auto lock.

i dont park it for more than 6 hours and visit it to pay meter every 2 but still not feelin safe. dont wanna pull the battery cus until i have my backup 12v installed for the alarm im not disabling my 700 dollar alarm lol. i know bad things might happen if i forget it off and keep cranking the engine but id realize once i hear theres no ignition and flip the switch plus i doubt id forget. i dont want a big bulky lock thing

if youve ever heard of mattapan, roxbury in boston youd be worried if you had a monkey in the trunk and arnold in the passenger seat. an alarm can only do so much and while it disables the car if someone wants the car they can get it running but this cheap yet effective switch will stop that possibility

Just add a kill switch hidden where you only can find it. When you get it you turn the key and press the switch at the same time and it turns on thats how my friends honda civic has it its hidden in that left compartment we have thats what i would do instead of adding a device that does let the fuel pump deliver fuel. Also get a steering wheel lock so then look If they break threw your 700 dollar alarm then they would have to break the steering wheel lock and then figure out how to start the dam thing i think thats pretty safe!

Your car is equipped with a serious immobilizer from the factory. Car theft is rampant here in Vancouver, BC and Surrey, BC Canada. The theives here are pretty sophisticated. However, the public insurance here has never had a single case of a Honda Civic with the factory immobilizer being bypassed. Your car is more likely to be stripped on the spot or towed and stripped rather than being started. I dare say that the factory serves its purpose well and is exceptionally theft resistant.

the fuel pump is in the tank........gotta take out the rear seat and you will see a small plate there. Unbolt the plate and there you go......make sure ur tank is almost empty.

factory immobilizer is junk btw. It can be bypassed with a screwdriver. Good idea, just poor implementation. Wheel lock...garbage. They just cut the soft steering wheel and pull it right off. The brake lock is a bit better cause it keeps you from pressing it. On most cars (even ours) the brake has to be pressed or the car won't go into gear. You could also do small stuff like hide the hood release behind the panel, and disconnect the trunk release cable from the latch. Ofcourse the down side is the thief will prolly just bang up your car in frustration if he can't get anything from it.

finally someone supportive lol thanks. what does the factory immobilizer do?
those are all the reasons i didnt want a wheel lock or anythin... mine is 5spd so id put the brake lock behind clutch but its huge and bulky so i dont want it. and with starteer cut off they can still pop the clutch im pretty sure. but if the fuel pump is disconnected they just cant start it no matter what unless they find the switch. and im fine with them bangin up my car cus id just make money off it.

If they start our cars wont they just shut off after about 25 miles because the sensor in the ignition wont pick up the chip in our key?

With immobilizer, the car won't start if a key with the wrong code is used. It's very silly, enen tho the idea is good. It's "supposed" to disable the fuel system and ignition. That hardly ever works tho, so pretend you don't have it. Um if you're not worried about getting the car banged up, lock the trunk and hood with some cable or chain from the inside. Disconnect all remote openers, and shave the keyholes if you have money.

I'm going to disagree with you. The immobilizer works very well. The only way it can potentially be bypassed with a screwdriver is if you have a remote start system. And if that was possible, the remote start installer didn't do it properly.

Well I've heard of 5 people from this forum and about 10 others that had their car stolen 01+ with immobilizer. So it's possible. Maybe not with a screwdriver everytime tho.

I don't doubt that it is possible. One way is if you own an Ilco SDD handheld diagnostic computer. However, this isn't likely a theif would obtain this because you need to be a certified locksmith. Even if you stole one of these devices, you wouldn't be able to use it because it is password protected. Maybe a crooked locksmith could disable the immobilizer using this, I guess. There are 2 other ways to "disable" the immobilizer, but they just simply aren't used due to skill or cost involved.

well no just get handles without keyhole. I know for the sedan at least the front and rear doors are the same, and the rears don't have keyhole. Aftermarket alarm really doesn't do much. I mean a good thief knows how to shut it off, and there goes that. It's just a noise maker. So don't think that will save you.
