the ricer crx that couldn't
So yesterday I was fixing a family friend's computer. They have a daughter in high school and she had a guy friend of hers over. He mentioned how much he liked my S2000 and he said there was a kid he hangs out with that claims to have an S2000 tranny in his crx.
Intrigued by this I told him I'd like to see this car.
So today, he had this kid stop by their house when I went over there again today. I had my car in their garage, with the door closed. this kid has no idea i own an S2000.
I go out and look at the car and he has a big wing on the back, as well as an unpainted ugly *** body kit.
Our conversation goes something like this:
Me: so i hear you have an S2000 transmission in your car.
Him: yeah. and i have an rsx turbo engine.
Me: so you put in an rsx engine and then turbo'd it?
Him: yeah.
Me: how many psi are you running on the turbo?
Him: oh just stock right now.

Me: stock psi, hey? haha. I guess dropping all that cash on the mods, it's no wonder you haven't had the money to paint your body kit.
Him: Yeah i dont know if i want this kit. this one doesn't have enough downforce.
Me: lol, i think it's heavy enough to make up for it. (seriously this kit was so overly ugly and gaudy)
Can I look at the transmission and shifter?
Him: Sure.
(i get in, shift the car and i felt like i was rowing a boat)
Me: dude, this is the stock transmission. this isn't an S2000 transmission. you have to move the shifter more than twice the distance on a normal S2000 transmission.
Him: yeah it is from the S2k. it's just a different shift ****.
Me: the shift **** isn't going to matter. there is no way this is an S2000 transmission. besides it's only a 5spd. S2000's are 6 speed.
Him: no this is just from the 5 speed S2000. my cousin owns an S2000 anyways, so I would know.
Me: Oh really? I happen to own an S2000 and it's sitting in the garage here. let's go compare shall we?
at this, the kid is like a deer in headlights. no idea wtf to think or say. lol. eventually after him drooling over my car, he says that he just got the car and was told it had an S2k transmission. I explained to him how nearly impossible that kind of swap would be. I also looked under his hood. mmm, stock D15. woot. and he didn't even have so much as an intake, much less a turbo.
I told him if he kept lying about what his car has he's gonna be made to look like a fool. maybe i've turned a ricer down the right path today.

indeed, maybe you set him straight. So when he pulls up to mcdonalds mackin on the chick at the window he won't be lyin bout what he doesn't have in his engine bay, good stuff.
Dude that's sad. You probably scarred him for life. He could be sitting in the corner of his room contemplating suicide right about now. That was probably the only he had in his life and you took it away! You could've been a nice guy and at least left him a few stickers for some extra hp...
That may have made him realize just how slow his 1.5 D15 was lol
